We were originally meant to be going elsewhere for dinner but got lost and ended up at this lovely place! We were greeted by lovely welcoming staff who kindly let us have a table. We arrived late so were unsure if they were still serving food and we even got to meet the chef! We ordered two steaks which were... More

Popped in for a meal with the wife, very pleasant welsh lad behind bar who catered for our every need. Food was ok. Only thing that ruined it was the boring bigot at the bar who continuously voiced his oppinion loudly to the entire bar. Remove him and you might get more locals visiting !!!

Having been to this pub on many occasions, with our puppy as it is posted as dog friendly, and also they catered for our dietary needs as I am lactose intolerant and my husband needs Gluten free. We contacted the pub this morning as we had heard it had changed hands 2 months ago and we wanted to know if... More

Nice pub nice staff, dog friendly, one coal fire in one corner surrounded by people, we sat in bar in a very cold ❄ corner service slow, suggested we go back for Sunday lunch on this visit, sorry but for those reasons my wife says no😖.

This was my third visit to this pub and by far the best. In the past I was not too impressed due to a dirty carpet on one occasion and the smell of dogs on another. However today all was lovely, clean, warm and with very good food. It was all helped by the most welcoming lady behind the bar.... More

We arrived just before the lunchtime opening, desperate for a toilet. The publican kindly opened early and was our saviour. He then proceeded to open a bit more fully, and was quick to look after our sustenance needs too. Well done and thank you!

Since the refurbishement it has a rather odd atmosphere - the ingle nook fireplace is still there, but so are the bar-flies. Their boring, loud ramblings rather spoils the attractive part of the pub. Food ok, beer good.

We had lunch here on Friday 14th October 2016. Premises are comfortable and welcoming as was the young lady who served us. We had the fish and chips which was well cooked and plentiful with a nicely laid out mixed salad. The wife could not eat all hers so I helped her out ! The toilets were clean and fresh... More

Me and himself had booked a weekend away and the Castlebrook inn was the most convenient eatery. HOW LOVELY is all that I want to say. We had prebooked Saturday night and received a warm welcome. The bar area is very olde worlde with an inglenook fireplace, the restaurant was clean fresh and modern. The food was that good that... More

Visited with family, having booked earlier. Arrived to find table set out ready for us, and dog. There was a field at the rear where our collie could have a good run before we eat. Menu was varied and excellent value, good wholesome "pub grub" not like the modern "Gastro Pub Idea". Staff were friendly and attentive whilst remaining unobtrusive.... More
