We had a lovely meal at the Plough having first experienced blending our own gin. The gin blending was very interesting and entertaining under the guidance of a true gin master. We then moved on into the dinning room for a very enjoyable and delicious meal. Would highly recommend the gin blending or tasting followed by dinner for a very... More

I had supper with a group of friends on a Monday night. We all chose from the Christmas set menu and everyone enjoyed the meal. The Classic Christmas Meal was plentiful, the steaks were well cooked and all the puddings were yummy. We were very well looked after in a private dining room with cosy fire. The restaurant is recommended... More

We booked the gin tasting experience which involved 2 hours in the company of Robin, our guide through the history of the drink and the various flavours, infusions, combinations and possibilities. Different tonics were tried along with 6 or so gins, and all in a very convivial atmosphere. This is a lovely experience, really good fun and interesting too. Then... More

Beautiful old building packed with character - flagstone floors, inglenook fireplaces, ancient beams, old vontagew tin toys in the playroom, and various different dining areas. Martin the owner is wonderful, and his staff are equally so - attentive, polite, and like the old sitcom Cheers, they remember your name. Food is superb - fish and chips, or the locally-sourced steaks... More

A building that oozes character also serves up a unique experience with its gin menu (there are several hundred to choose from plus the opportunity to create your own) that makes you wish you had't got to drive home. The food we had was of excellent quality, if a little on the small size for the price: my wife's lamb... More

Went for dinner with 5 other friends last night. Lovely surroundings and attentive staff. Food was nice I had the lamb rump which was tasty. Dessert let it down for me I had sticky toffee pudding which was more like a sponge cake without any dates etc with a shape that made me think it was brought in and microwaved.... More
