Called for breakfast on way to Cumbria, was busy but good came quickly, was hot and quality produce was used. Called on way back, at 16.10 after being on the A66 for ages to be told hot food stopped at 16.00, literally fancied a toasted sandwich after a long journey. So we had a scone and a cake which were... More

I've called in here with a friend today for a bite to eat while passing. We both got an all day breakfast and we're really happy with it, the service was first class and the portion size was good. Would definitely recommend and will call again.

Food was really nice and with of five stars alone, we each had the cooked breakfast and the bacon was thickly cut and amazingly tasty. Service was really quick even though it was busy and prices were very reasonable The queueing system however, is so bizarre that it is off putting. It was Saturday lunchtime, so very busy. First we... More

Stopped off here on a trip up to Scotland & I must say the food was lovely but it sure is one busy place! We did arrived at about 12 so I guess that was to be expected but I do know people who regularly go here & they say it's always pretty packed out. The queue to get served... More

Had a scrummy afternoon tea at Mainsgill Farm shop today. The food is always so good. Though it was a shame the place had to be swept, mopped and polished a good hour before closing. We left sooner than anticipated due to the strong aroma of cleaning product. I appreciate that in a working farm environment hygiene is a priority... More

Amazed to find that it was not a table service so you find a table and then queue (the queues can be very long!) and order. The food was served very quickly so it wasn't a problem but Im not in favour of this type of restaurant. I thought they disappeared about 20 years ago.

We were recommended here by family that live locally. The food was good quality and tasty with some delicious cakes and sweets to choose from.

We'd passed this place a few times so decided to see what all the fuss was about. The farm shop is full of local produce though a lot of it is pre-packed and none of it is cheap. The main attraction seemed to be the restaurant so we decided to have tea and a couple of cake slices. It was... More

Mainsgill farm is a great place to call at to break your journey. Its more than a tea room, serving a selection of hot meals as well as sandwiches, salad,s drink, pastries and cakes. I have eaten here many times and I can recommend the breakfast and the hot meal specials. Service is quick and everything freshly cooked. The tea... More
