We did not stay at the hotel, but called in one lunchtime, while over Harrogate way, for a lunch. Having visited two previous pubs in the vicinity and been turned away from both due to high volumes of diners on the lead up to Christmas,...More

Beautiful restaurant with log burner. Plenty of parking. Went for lunch starting with the Crab lasagne; excellent. For main I had the Taste of rabbit. Not the most tender rabbit I've ever had & in fact the leg was tough. No carbohydrate on the plate left...More

Been patronising this establishment for over 10 years and it's all super place. Great menu selections and hosts both game and seafood weeks. The staff are attentive and prompt- recent staff changes this year and the only person whom I recognise is the very hospitable...More

After 5 Miles of local walking, taking in the edge of the nearby Staveley nature reserve, the Market Menu lunch option proved sufficient for our needs and excellent value. For lovers of game the specials, and main menu are a delight.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed the visit overall. Felt let down by being served a cold sausage at breakfast as generally the food was very good.

While visiting the area we arrived near the end of service on a quiet Sunday evening. The food and service were excellent and good value for money. My black pudding starter was wonderful as was my wife's seafood pancake. We followed that with beautiful lamb...More

A lovely dining room with oodles of atmosphere. Very good menu with excellent sea food choices. My seared sword fish was well last its best, but the rest of dinner was very good. An extensive wine list with good wines at reasonable prices.

Really nice restaurant open to both hotel guests and non residents. Menu was wide ranging and all of our dishes were very good. Scallops were a popular, and good, choice. Ordering in the lounge over a pre dinner drink made it seem as if there...More
