I always make the nice long drive here on a fine day, they do great breakfasts including veg option with halloumi! decent pies and range of cakes and options. Has a small shop area too, staff are helpful and the outdoor seating and play area...is perfect for little kids and families. Its a local run cafe its not aiming to be a Michelin star venue but a great pit stop and welcoming spot in a rural landscape and we should support these as much as possible - the negative reviews are not really fair but people with un met expectations take their comments with a pinch of salt but come and experience for yourself!More

Went here with the family where two out of 6 were vegan. Disappointingly the only vegan options were a side of fries or jacket potato with beans. I went to pie specialist (debatable) to try a pie, but couldn’t. It’s 2022 how can you not...have a vegan option at all other than JP with beans ? Very young staff who clearly need a little more training in hospitality. Probably not their fault. Definitely won’t be returning as I can’t eat a pie. I feel it’s living off their celebrity visit for a bit too long now.More

It would make a lot more sense to call ahead with any specific dietary requirements to avoid disappointment which could certainly be catered for. Your are quite unjustified regarding your comments about our staff and somewhat Rude! Obviously by your previous trip advisor reviews this...More

Park your cycles here, no muddy boots. Eat in a Nissen hut. Coffee in 1960s glass mugs. Pork pie, pastry very poor, filling dry and tasteless, jelly dark and listless. Nice view. Not nice pies.More

‘Park your cycles here’ …because this is the designated area for them. ‘No muddy boots’ …would you walk in your own home with muddy boots? …no brainer. ‘Eat in a Nissan Coffee Hut’ …it is actually a 42 old ex pheasant rearing shed, not a...More

We planned to visit Nice Pie at the end of a visit to Harlexton Manor on Saturday. We carefully checked the opening times on Google (4.30pm). After a splendid walk around the beautiful manor we'd built up our appetite, but skipped their refreshments in favour...of the much anticipated pie that lie ahead. We allowed ourselves plenty of time, checked the opening times again at the entrance (clearly stating 4pm) and parked up a few minutes after 3pm. On entry into the restaurant it was clear they were closing up and had no intention of serving us. Fabulous. (On subsequently checking their own website the kitchen closes at 3pm, although the website says Tea Room and Farm Shop opening hours 9.30 - 4.30 Tuesday to Saturday - all very confusing!) Needless to say we won't be recommending or indeed revisiting. We went to the Alpine Restaurant instead.More

Totally unjustified review when you were told on the phone not to arrive later than 2.45 as the kitchen starts to clean down and will be closed at 3

Always get a good breakfast here, good food, nice and warm. My only issue is the rap music playing constantly.

I get Nice Pie are award winning and focus on Pies but just don’t get a warm feeling there - Told what we cannot have rather than what we can, just disappointing as the staff feel a bit prickly at times just cannot put my...finger on it but needs to feel like a welcoming businessMore

This place shuts at 4:30 according to the website. It says kitchen shuts at 3pm. That was fine, we only wanted coffee and cake. When I got there at 3:10pm they said they couldn’t do any hot drinks as they clean down their coffee machine...at 3pm so they can leave on time to go home. That coffee machine must take a lot of cleaning! I don’t see any point to a place like this being open for an hour and a half with no food other than a couple of cakes and some cold drinks. I won’t bother going back. It is also very difficult to find. Maybe lunch on a sunny day is nice but a wet day in a cold shed without hot drinks is not fun. Maybe invest in a kettle and just provide instant after 3pm?? Anything would be better than turning people away on a cold wet day.More

Visited Nice Pie (NP) for the very 1st time this morning after Parkrun for breakfast. We only live 4 miles from here so I guess we should've visited long before now. We usually go to another farm shop / cafe in the area but today...decided on NP for a change. Got there at 10.10am and just 1 other table was occupied with 2 people sat at it. Firstly, the location of NP is fantastic & the decor inside was very nice. That unfortunately is where the positives end. The menu stated be seated, wait, and someone will take your order. We sat there for about 8mins without anyone coming to us. A 3rd couple came in and after 2-3 mins, went up to the counter to order. On seeing this, I then went up. Once my turn, I said to the young guy behind the till "Sorry, but your menu says wait and you'll be approached for your order". He replied, "I think that's old" (maybe referring to previous Covid measures). I ordered a bacon & sausage bap, a vegetarian breakfast & 2 coffees. The bacon bap was £4 (quite reasonable) but the vegetarian breakfast was £10 which I thought was a little excessive. A couple of minutes later, a girl bought over our coffees and asked "do you want sugar?" I asked just for a sweetener. She went away to ask, coming back to say "we don't have sweetener but I can get you sugar" I declined. Maybe another 3 or 4 minutes passed when the breakfast arrived. Initial presentation was good as was the taste. However, 1/3 through the vegetarian breakfast, I discovered 2 longish hairs in my egg. I picked these out on the end of my finger & approached the counter. I extended my finger & said to the young lad that I'd just found them in / on the egg. An older gentleman, the cook and / or possibly the owner), said "sorry, can I cook you another egg?" as o handed him the plate of over half the breakfast left. I said "no thankyou" and just turned & went back to my table. Within a minute, the young lad came to our table and handed me a £10 note in refund for my breakfast. Within a couple of minutes, after my husband finished his bap and our coffees, we left. By this time, we were the only ones in the location (a group of motorbikers had pulled up outside but hadn't yet entered). I have to say, that for the 2mins we were sat alone in the premises, that was the ideal time for the chef / owner to approach us and apologies for our experience. He made no attempt to do so. In fact, everything was left to the young lad to do. The lack of his presence was very poor indeed. Pros - 1. Lovely location 2. Nicely presented food. 3. Refund without asking. Cons - 1. Outdated menus. 2. No sweetener. 3. Hairs in food. 4. Lack of management intervention. As much as I hate giving a low star rating to places, especially independent businesses, I'm sorry to say, I cannot give our experience anymore than 2 stars. A a result, we won't recommend this place nor shall we be visiting again. Such a shame.More

What a fabulous place. It is down a gravel drive off the main road but when you get to the tea room and shop it's beautiful with a brilliant view over the valley. Inside is pretty too. Outside is great for both little ones as...they have a safe play area and for all ages with plenty of benches to enjoy the view. There sausage rolls are great but there cake is even better. Good car park and safe for cyclists to leave their bikesMore
