We enjoyed lunch here a few weeks ago. The menu wasn't huge which actually was very helpful as I find it impossible to choose! There was certainly plenty of choice and a Specials board as well. The food was excellent, obviously all home cooked. All 3 of us really enjoyed our meals as well as the traditional cosy atmosphere of... More

We had not visited for a few months and had a birthday to celebrate so thought we would see if the menu had changed. We were very impressed with the choice plus the Specials and all enjoyed excellent meals with my Steal and Kidney Pudding attracting most attention from our group. Superb!! I could not manage a pudding but the... More

We visited on a Saturday afternoon initially for drinks then decided to eat. We shared a pate to start then I ordered lasagne and my other half ordered hot pot. The food was brilliant. Best lasagne I've had in a pub and a huge portion. The staff were attentive, and went the extra mile - bringing drinks over to the... More

Always a first class meal - an ideal country pub. Proprietor is owner of Bowland Brewery so you can guarantee a decent pint of theirs or a guest beer. A pleasant fire on the cold nights, what pubs should be about.

Never been to Lancashire before, invited to a private function here where they gave us 2 rooms, one for food and the other for a small gathering. The buffet was superb, really fresh and plenty of it with tea and coffee and an excellent variety of hot and cold food. All home made and really tasty, even the chips were... More

We visited with friends for lunch and the food was very good quality and freshly made and well portioned, service was very good and would certainly re visit, superb decor in keeping with pub age, only negative we sat out side and we had to pay for drinking every time and food separate as they don't allow tabs, maybe adopt... The selection of bitter is great. However, the bitter is far too cold and is therefore tasteless. How can Bowland brewery biter taste far better in the new inn ? Food might well be good but the bitter is poor.

We stopped her for dinner, the home made lasagne was delicious, really nice old English country pub. Good service and reasonable prices,we will be back. Would be nice to visit in winter with the open fires, it's a nice cosy pub even in the summer. Would highly recommend.

Picked the Buck after a ride to Waddington etc and reading good reviews. We were dissappointed with the food, I had steake and ale pie chips and mushy peas garden peas were ordered. They were good as were the chips. The pie and the wifes cheese pie could have been bought similar at Morrisons or a fish and chip shop... More

Third visit here. Lovely and quaint pub in a lovely village. The gluten free fish was so light and crispy. Huge portion too. Hubby had the chicken Han and leek pie and his was fabulous too. Highly recommended
