Family of five with high expectations of Sunday lunch having eaten at the Oxford twice before. All of us agreed that the food and service were excellent - could not find a fault - would highly recommend!! Brightened up a rainy day!

Always wanted to try this place and went in with my wife before Christmas. First thing that was annoying was that the menu online didn't reflect what was on offer in the restaurant. However the guy who served us was excellent, really friendly. Went for the gravlax - the baguette was bordering on burnt, and partridge - overcooked and veg... More

First time here, very friendly and tables are not packed in. Limited changing menu, but we'll thought out. Smoke haddock fishcakes with homemade tartar sause were excellent and would be acceptable in any Michelin star restaurant. What blew it was the undercooked partridge. I know it takes quite a long time to prepare, but would rather had waited another 5... More

First time we have tried the Oxford and not disappointed. Limited menu with very good food. We prefer that as it generally means they do it well which they did. Very hospitable waiting staff up for a laugh. A bit chilly but it was opening time. We will return.

A return visit for my wife and I, this time with a friend. Now, at the risk of insulting the wonderful Clare's cooking in the kitchen ( the Haddock superb and the salted caramel and chocolate tart painfully delicious! ) the 'star' of this delightful establishment is the lovely front of house Jack! He breezes around efficiently and with great... More

This is a small place so you have to get your booking in but when you succeed it is definitely worth it. We had been here before for a quick lunch snack and were determined to return. We arrived a little early but were welcomed in and started with a nice aperitif. It is true that you need to give... More

The food was well presented and was tasty, however, no choice of vegetables offered, and I don't like cauliflower cheese. Doesn't go with roast pork / beef - not in my book anyway. Only 1 person looking after the bar and dining area. The table next to us was full of dirty plates from just after we arrived till when... More

First off the staff were so lovely and attentive and then the food was amazing, everyone enjoyed everything. We will definately be going back. We went for a friend's birthday and had the whole restaurant, we would definately recommend.

We found ourselves in Whitstable looking for somewhere for dinner. Many places did not seem to open and serve until later but we happened on the Oxford. Mid week deal of two courses and glass of wine for £16.95! The children picked two starters. They both loved the blue cheese and air dried ham tart they had for main. Wife... More

Three of us enjoyed dinner early Saturday evening. Friendly welcome in simple but pleasing environment and very good food. A bit pricey for us but certainly excellent quality.

The Oxford is a privately owned intimate restaurant offering Modern British food in a relaxed environment. We have rapidly built a reputation for quality and service and pride ourselves on using the best produce that Kent has to offer, from well-respected local farms and fishmongers. The Oxford is open Wednesday to Sunday offering flavoursome and mouth-watering lunch and evening menus, and a traditional roast on Sunday lunchtimes. The Oxford has a licence for alcohol and we stock a selection of quality wines, spirits, bottled beers, ales and lagers. For those who like to dine al fresco we have a wonderful courtyard garden, which can seat a further 30 people. Serving a homely twist on modern British Cuisine, Clare Brown's delicious menu has already secured a regular customer base and the seasonal menu changes regularly.
