This is the closest restaurant to the castle and is within walking distance. You need to book as it is very popular. The pub is cozy and well appointed. Friendly staff and decent beer (Shepherd Neme on tap) I had the Deviled Whitebait and one of the specials for main, the steak and kidney pudding. Both perfect. The pudding actually... More

Always a wonderful lunch at this establishment. I highly recommend the Belly of Pork, which I always seem to choose when I dine here. The Pub has a lot of charm, I love the big fire place. Always busy which is a good sign. Friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit!

Fantastic more than pub food. Need to book what ever the day, great menu at a reasonable price, great in the summer as it has extensive gardens, child friendly. One of our favourite local pubs, never disappointed. Great place to end a golf day or having been to the castle, both really local. Good parking.

Booked a few tables for a number of my immediate family the Sunday after our wedding. We were married at Hever Castle, had THE MOST amazing day and evening and everyone was in uplifted spirits. The male manager of the Henry VIII was so, so utterly rude I responded to his behaviour by leaving the pub and telling everyone else... More

A charming (and unspoiled) old village pub with a well-deserved reputation for good food. We went there for the first time for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best I've had. Two of us chose traditional roasts (beef and turkey) and my husband had mushroom risotto. All were delicious; it is rare to get a roast which compares... More

Luckily for us we could not get into a nearby pub for lunch as they were so busy! We thought we would try this old pub after driving past a few times. Plenty of parking opposite, we entered and it was really busy with a nice friendly atmosphere. I asked at the bar if they had any tables available and... More

Description
The King Henry VIII is a truly historic English pub, from its dramatic Tudor chimney stacks to its oak beams, open fires and panelled bars, all restored using traditional Tudor craftsmanship. The current building dates from 1647 but a pub has occupied the site since 1597.Opposite the entrance to Hever Castle, where Anne Boleyn spent her early years, this half-timbered and peg-tiled pub is a real gem. In summer the beautiful beer garden and pond make visits especially memorable and the roaring fires and polished wood panelling make it a welcoming and cosy place for colder months.Customers can expect excellent food in generous portions and a wide range of ales, beers & wines.
