Not kidding, the Sunday roasts are amazing! Huge portions to fill you up after a long walk along the beach, tasty, hearty food and great value for money. Lovely warm, welcoming pub atmosphere, we holed up here for a good couple of hours before heading back down the coast to Herne Bay. Long live Great British pubs like this!!

Walked to here from our rental cottage in Herne bay, really nice walk along the coast, sunshine helped. We sat in the beer garden with the dog, water bowl supplied, but could of easily sat inside. But as the sun was shining it felt more like May than Feb. We had a few drinks & had the classic Combo. All... More

We called in here for lunch after a lovely bracing walk along the seafront along to Herne Bay and back - so we were ready for lunch when we arrived. It was Sunday and the place was very busy indeed. It was crowded at the bar and it took a while to get the food and drink orders in, but... More

Had a lovely walk around the beach and the towers. Beautiful setting for a pub. Sadly the service was a little lacking in friendliness. Older gentlemen served us and he was pretty much yes, no etc. No chit chat, this in itself is not a terrible thing but it did cause us to feel a little bit of an inconvenience... More

I had lunch with my family at this pub today but was disappointed. The food was nothing special. The Yorkshire puddings were over done and cold, the potatoes likewise. There wasn't enough of the other vegetables for all of us and the waitress was positively rude. My daughter and I wanted to order a pudding but we decided against it... More

After a walk from Herne Bay, we called into the King Ethelbert Inn for lunch. Really nice atmosphere and great food. Certainly don't scrimp on the portion size!! Very welcoming, even allowed the dog in. My daughter is vegetarian and this was well catered for. Looking forward to the next visit!

We visited here on the New Year Bank Holiday just on the off chance. The pub was crowded inside so we decided to brace the weather and eat outside. A great sun trap. Beer was good and whilst the food was traditional pub fare, the fish and chips was good. Certainly worth coming back in the summer.

Lunch time visit and enjoyed two hot, tasty dishes, friendly and efficient staff, all washed down with a tasty pint of bitter. Have visited on a number of occasions and have always come away feeling happy.
