Six of us dined here on a Friday evening. Everyone had a fine time with top class food and good wine. The ragu started was excellent and the Pie - what a pie!! Lovely shortcrust pastry, full of delicious chicken filling. Food arrived very quickly...More

After reading the reviews for Red Sails it sounded like the perfect place for a fine evening out. How wrong we were. Terrible decor, poor atmosphere & an owner that clearly thought that the food on offer was something very special for the American ladies...More

This was our second visit. At lunchtime, we think that the 2 course menu offers excellent value given the quality of the food; We had different starters, both full of flavour, and both chose the braised lamb pie. A case of all-butter pastry was crammed...More

Dropped in on the off chance and despite a large party, we were offered a table. Vegetarian vegetable starter was delicious, as was the asparagus main course...cheese custard was to die for! The pork was cooked to perfection and I can't say enough about the...More

Crayfish, what crayfish? I don't complain as I'm not looking for a free meal, rather aiming to prevent others from a less than memorable evening out. I counted three small striped orangey bits which could have been anything. Others reported even less. Most of the...More

Took two friends who wanted to treat us to a meal and ended up embarrassed and annoyed by badly cooked food and extremely poor response to my email following the meal. Out of four meals, my cod was raw and the risotto was like porridge,...More

A classic half-truth of top level political standard. It is true that we got something wrong, though the story is not as told. But we admitted it, apologised, provided fresh food and offered desserts or a drink as a tangible apology, which was accepted. There...More

Very disappointed by our visit for supper, it looks as though it could be really nice. Very arrogant and opinionated manager. Food middling for the price.
