We visited this pub for the very first time, and found the service, food, and wine very good indeed, would recommend this pub, and will certainly return soon.

We were a group of 42 on a visit to Hever Castle and had arranged to have lunch at the Wheatsheaf. We had chosen our meal earlier and when we arrived were offered to be served in the garden since it was a wonderful sunny...More

Booked for Sunday lunch. Nice weather so we chose to eat outside. Service is very slow and not very cheerful, and we had to go and ask for everything. Food was good, my husband said the lamb was excellent. So let down badly by the...More

From the warm welcome to the wonderful white chocolate and rhubarb dessert, the Wheatsheaf was a delight. We were staying down the road at Hever Castle, so wanted somewhere local, but couldn't have hoped it would be so good. The staff were helpful and attentive...More

A beautiful location, a sun trap, nice decor and the staff mean well. Tasteless and cold food. A family visit for a Sunday lunch. A wonderful, overcast, slightly sunny day. Sunday dinner in the garden with the family. A variation of the Sunday lunch. Service...More

Visited with two of my ffiends. Thought the food was quite pricey, but delicious. Can thoroughly recommend the Scotch egg.

The location is good, and the service very acceptable, but the whole reason for going, the food, lets the place down. With the fish and chips, the batter was overcooked, and the fish dry. Surely this is a basic for any eating establishment to get...More

We had to go late as no earlier slots. A big mistake on this day but unavoidable. Service terrible, very large roasts but other dishes miniscule. My husband's main course was more starter size. The waitress forgot my jersey royals even though I had requested...More

I really want to rate this pub higher. It's one of the nicest village pubs you can find in Kent and when I've eaten here before the food and beer was great. However we ate here for Fathers day and we had a poor experience....More

Description
Welcome to The Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech, an independent pub restaurant serving freshly-made, inspiring food, cooked in our own kitchen by chef David Fuller and his talented team. We use only the finest local ingredients and produce from our kitchen garden to create seasonal dishes we think you'll love. But don't just take our word for it – have a look at our menus. Situated on the edge of the High Weald in west Kent, The Wheatsheaf is a stone's throw from Bough Beech reservoir, and just five minutes drive from Hever Castle. Once a hunting lodge rumoured to have been a much-loved retreat for King Henry VIII, it's still a firm local favourite today – and with its welcoming atmosphere, it's not hard to see why. Now known for beautifully-prepared, locally-sourced food and a fine selection of wines and real ales, The Wheatsheaf is a cosy haven in the winter with roaring log fires and in the summer you can soak up the sun on our beautiful terrace. Cyclists, horse riders, walkers (and dogs, if you call in advance) are always welcome, and with plenty of parking available there's every reason to visit – so what are you waiting for?
