Nice atmosphere here, food is good but the service is very slow. We weren't told of the 40 minute wait until after we had ordered and paid and then it took over an hour. Three hungry young children in tow doesn't make for an easy wait!

We had just got to Cowes via the Redjet and the Fountain is on the quay. The staff were friendly and helpful but the food was ordinary and nothing special. We were disappointed.

A very disappointing experience, the "Ultimate Fish & Chips" was awful and definitely not worth the money, really over cooked in what tasted like really old cooking oil. The burger was tasteless and overall we would have been better off at a greasy spoon café. The staff were friendly, but they really need to sort out the kitchen.

Always eat here when I stay in Cowes. The quality of the food is always good, and there is a great selection of wine and beer.

Stayed here when we visited the Isle of Wight for friends celebrations. Our own fault left it to the last minute to book any where in June. Although, a period property, it was very poorly maintained and dirty and in desperate need of updating. We were showed one room, which We refused, then shown to the top of the hotel,... More

Always lovely to sit outside and watch the world pass by. Just a pity that this is where the taxi rank and buses also are so can get a little noisy at times. However get past that and it's a great suntrap and a welcome place to have a drink.

Confusion, and then food. We ordered a beer from the bar but somehow the name of the brewery (Wold Top) got converted into a pint with a top -not a great start. However the menu seemed to be what we were after, and the chilli salmon salad was perfect. Steak and Ale pie probably over-delivered, but nevertheless the plate was... More

Very good value short break, with good breakfast, comfortable room and conveniently situated. Only downsides were the apparent lack of a lift, and no car parking - the nearest car park is about 400 yards away, so be prepared for a walk!

Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, as such an old building we can't unfortunately accommodate a lift, but I do hope you will stay with us again soon. If you would like to give us a call beforehand we should be able to advise on some alternative parking sites, which may be more convenient for you. More

Stayed here on business, only one type of steak left on the menu. Chips were meant to be triple cooked but were just normal frozen chips. Thyme roasted tomatoes hadn't seen any thyme. Although it didn't affect me, serving staff were more concerned with restocking crisps and bottles than serving waiting customers.
