The rooms, inn and restaurant are housed in buildings alongside the river Lugg. As well as somewhere to sit by the water there is also an area of grass on a terrace above the inn and its car park. Our room, the Hayloft, was accessed...More

We've been put off the Riverside in past few years due to over-officious staff and tiny bar area, but recent refurbishment and a change of ownership has transformed the place. I had the locally cured river trout to start; I'd had this previously and it...More

We had not visited Riverside Inn for quite a while, although we knew that the head chef had taken it over in May 2016 The atmosphere and décor is impressive, modern rustic charm and stylish all blending in well with a 16th century building. We were...More

On the advice of a local and regular, we booked a table here- very good looking setting and the Riverside Inn itself is hugely attractive within. We had Guinea Fowl/Hake/Blue Cheese ice cream and Bread and butter pudding along with a glass each of a...More

Popped here for a quick drink after visiting Croft castle. It's a lovely setting with benches in the small garden all next to the river. The kids even spotted a kingfisher! We didn't eat but it looked very nice inside and the staff were helpful

Had dinner here last week. The menu selection was poor and grossly overpriced. The whole atmosphere was very pretentious, pretending to be a Michelin Star quality restaurant and failing miserably. I had cauliflower soup which tasted of nothing, I didn't have a main course as...More

Not sure as I have only used a taxi once locally - I think it was a Leominster-based taxi firm. I seem to remember it was about £30 to go not very far, so be ready for a hefty bill. I presume the cost is higher because of... More

Description
Aymestreys The Riverside Inn and Restaurant is nestled in the Herefordshire countryside, where the Roman Watling Street crosses the meandering River Lugg. Amongst trees where butterflies flutter and dragonflies buzz, The Riverside Inn is an old black and white timbered building full of original features - oak beams, log fires, exposed stone - dating back more than three hundred years. Warm and full of character, this is a typically British inn with an excellent line in local ales, countryside perries and ciders as well as a number of European and New World wines selected as accompaniments to the fine dining food produced by the kitchens award winning chefs. Committed to supporting local producers and suppliers from the rich larder of the surrounding counties, The Riverside Restaurant is proud to be local - even hyper-local in some cases with herbs and vegetables often taken from the inns very own garden - and as such dishes are created to showcase the best seasonal ingredients. Every item is freshly cooked just meters from your table and every taste and requirement is catered for with excellent vegetarian options as well as good choices for coeliacs and non-dairy eaters.
