Three adult meals ordered, service was friendly and quick. Food itself was fantastic, I had the chicken wrap from the special board, my friends had the scampi and chicken burger. Would recommend it.

Awful! Overpriced very poor quality food and poor service. Took a while to get the orders taken and even longer to get them on the table - 45 minutes waiting time between the courses. The place was not busy at the time. Staff lazy and uninterested. Food was really bad though - kids' spaghetti bolognaise had no sauce at all,... More

Had a great meal. Food was excellent, the menu was varied and something for everyone. Much much better than just normal pub grub! The staff were attentive and helpful. Special mention to Sian who was lovely and very welcoming. Will definitely be returning.

We sat in the garden which was lovely and nicely kept. However, we both ordered fish and chips which was sold as "market fresh". The food arrived suspiciously quickly and tasted as though it had been cooked from frozen - hardly market fresh. The waiter then told us to find our own cutlery etc in the pub. At £14.99 we... More

We visited a few times a few years ago, and found the food acceptable, But since our last visit, new owners have taken over and the pub has been recently fully refurbished which includes the garden area, and, what a difference! The menu is very varied and expansive if a bit pricey. I had a ploughman's lunch, which was a... More

Hilltop is a great location and you will often get ponies and donkey outside this pub. We were charmed by a donkey and her foal in the car park when we arrived. Food and drinks were good with some good options on the menu as well as traditional pub fare. Service was efficient and polite. Pubs in the New Forest... More

food related; I'm sorry to have to write such a bad review of the food but me and my partner had a lunch today and we waited well over an hour for this to come out, for the price I was expecting something like fancy pub food, but not impressed. My partners just looked like very mideoca chicken burger and... More

Description
The Royal Oak is a family run historic pub set in the New Forest. It offers an excellent range of real ales and ciders, as well as lovely homemade food and desserts. The pub is near to local attractions such as Beaulieu motor museum, Lepe beach and Exbury gardens. Great for family, the beer garden and childrens play area offers a great resting point for days out.
