I have to say the location, food and service were top class. This too with new forest and horses around you! Special mention to Elizabeth for excellent and caring service too.

Found this place on our way back to our lodge at a nearby holiday village. We checked that they were dog friendly and they are! Four of us in our family, all having different meals, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed! My husband was a...More
Good service, quick and efficient. Ham eggs and chips very tasty although egg very slightly watery. I did ask them to flip the egg to prevent this but it's always a trade off between hard egg and watery, so not an issue. Cheese cake was...More

I don't usually write reviews, this is the 1st, but I felt compelled to!!! 8 of us (2 families of 4) visited the red shoot inn on the 4th August after setting up our tents on the camp site. The food seemed overpriced for pub...More

Be prepared to wait on busy days. This is a very popular pub at the weekend winter and summer. We as locals might not hurry to eat there during the summer months. But it never disappoints. Good basic pub food, always enjoyable.
Dear Maryke B Thank you for your comments. we understand that as locals you know it is busy but it is always a pleasure to see you here at the Red shoot
We were a family of three breaking for lunch on a day out and about in the New Forest. This was our first visit since the refurbishment of this pub. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty. The sausages were especially good. Recommended.
Dear 415John Thank you for your comments. we are so pleased you enjoyed your lunch with us and hope you will return again. We love our refurbishment and hope everyone does too
Returning from a good day at the coast, the main road being full of delays (as usual) and plenty of time on our hands we decided to cut across the New Forest to get closer to home and (hopefully) avoid the traffic we came across...More

Our friends were camping in the adjacent field so we all went to the Red Shoot Inn for dinner. As it was a Saturday it was very busy, so it was a good thing that we booked in advance. The staff were friendly and efficient...More
dear Richard s Thank you for your comments. We hope to improve our food offer with our next menu change and hope that you will return again to sample great specials.
Booked a table (2 of us are local, so during school holidays aware booking is essential) for 5 adults for lunch. Was over looked at bar and 2 other's served while I was waiting patiently - so not a good start! Once our party had...More

Visited Red Shoot again for lunch, has been revamped. In my opinion, the idea to remove the children's small room with toys etc was a bad one, especially as it has a camp site next door. There is no child specific menu, just 'Small Plates'....More
