Saloon bar, take the dog, good pint of Courage, coal fire friendly locals - a great pub. Too many pubs have to serve food, become themed out of existence and generally ruin themselves. This is a boozer. And a good one. Use it!

This pub changed hands back in the autumn. The new publican has made several improvements without changing any of the fabric drastically. Biggest change is to the menu which, for lunch, is excellent. A good selection of guest beers is also available.
