Had to wait a very long time for any service, arpeggios no 30 mins just to be asked if we wanted drinks. The. Waitress was rude and abrupt. Food was ok but evening ruined by poor service.

We were staying with some friends who live close to Battle. They took us to this pub on a Saturday afternoon. It was not too crowded and we sat near the fire. This was lit halfway through our visit. There is a good choice of drinks and friendly bar staff, The mulled cider that was available was superb. Definitely a... More

Walked in off the street, having stayed in a local hotel. Impressed with variety of beers and knowledgeable staff. Decided to have lunch. Brilliant choice. Autumn menu has wide selection of starters, mains and sweets. Food perfectly cooked promptly served and generous portions. Go there hungry! Meal for two including drinks £40. Will definitely return.

We decided to try to get a drink here after the Battle Bonfire. Wasn't sure we'd get in as thousands of people in the town. We did get in and dispite the fact they were very busy, we got served quickly enough. The staff were polite and seemed to be a happy bunch. We would definitely drink her again, and... More

Been many times, always friendly, clean with good service. Plenty of good beers and the pub grub is just what you'd like.

Having tried for 10 minutes to get anyone's attention in a restaurant further down the street - and failing - we gave the Bull Inn a try, and were pleasantly surprised. You can eat in the front bar or in the seating area/ restaurant at the back...we were served promptly by a friendly woman who was also working the bar.... More

Came for lunch before seeing the Abbey. They have their own Old Dairy Bitter as well as a couple of other guests which were all nice. Had a meze platter and spinach and ricotta parcels. All were excellent although were too much for both of us for lunch. Pricing was decent. Service was reasonable.
