I took two of my friends out to lunch today. They had Tempura prawns and chilli dip which they enjoyed. I had a mozzarella bruschetta. I sent it back as it was too soggy as it wasn't toasted enough. It was priced at £6.95 and for two small slices with barely any ingredients on it, it was far too expensive.... More

We had a lovely warm welcome and a tasty meal. The Brie tart was excellent, as was the steak and kidney pie and the spinach and butternut squash risotto. The vegetables were beautifully cooked and everything was piping hot. The waitress couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely choose to eat there again. Thank you to the staff for a... More

Very nice for a quiet evening meal for two with a good wine list and soft lighting etc. Nice family run friendly place, customer focused. Since i'm vegan it would be nice if another option was added to the menu however my first impressions were excellent. Lots of regular veggie (dairy based) options on the menu and specials board. I... We were staying with some friends who live locally and they chose this pub for our three course Christmas meal. We arrived 15 minutes early at 7.15 but this was not a problem and we were shown into the restaurant straight away. There was only one waitress but she was very attentive and helpful. The food was fine with only... More

We have been customers at the Netherfield Arms for many years. Sunday lunch is an all time favourite of ours as the home cooked food is excellent. Caroline, Mike and their team always provide a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and the service is second to none! Well worth a visit and thoroughly recommended. 10 out of 10.

We have just returned from enjoying the second lunch within 2 days at this lovely country pub. Having visited the restaurant many times over a number of years we are never disappointed with either the quality of the food or the friendly service. Always a pleasure to visit and look forward to many more lunches at this venue.

Charming restaurant . Easy going ambiance. Pleasant attentive, but unobtrusive service. Good choice of food. One of us particularly favours the fish dishes which are always beautifully cooked and presented, while the other goes for the home made pies and suet puddings, plentiful and tasty .

Had a most excellent lunch here together with a lovely pint of beer. Fellow walkers were equally satisfied. The food seems to be genuinely home cooked.

We had come here because we mistakenly thought dogs were welcome (in reality it is th White Hart just up the road which welcomes dogs) and because it served vegan food. Unfortunately a sign outside made it clear dogs were not allowed, but another one did say "2 vegan dishes" which was excellent news as I'm lactose intolerant and we're... More

Hello May H, Thank you for taking the trouble to review The Netherfield Arms. I feel I must however, put across our side of the story. You are right in as much as you say that we don't allow dogs on the premises but do allow them in the garden on a lead. We do have a sticker on the... More
