It's been a good few years since we've been to Walberswick and The Anchor and we were hoping for a bit of a wow given the reputation. We had a good lunch but it didn't quite live up to the hype. Arriving at 1.45 we...More

Last Friday we booked a table at the other hostelry in Walberswick for family and friends to celebrate a wedding eve with the bride to be. We all experienced diabolical journeys that were much longer than normal and when we arrived the other hostelry refused...More

We stayed at the Anchor Hotel for one night. Cost per room was £130 B&B. The hotel rooms are in desperate need of a refurb! Peeling paint on radiators, skirting boards and cupboard doors. Bath was very discoloured and was old. It was clean, but...More

We both chose pork with white beans. The pork was beautifully cooked and the whole dish was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Look forward to returning soon.

Waited 40 minutes for food to arrive in the garden....Wrong soup arrived; .Cost was refunded as it was not eaten.... And as well as the burger and chips everything was barely warm. Somewhat overpriced for such a limited menu Décor looks a little tired

Visited for lunch over the bank holiday on the basis of having a diverse and interesting menu, not just standard pub fare. I can only describe the whole experience as distinctly underwhelming with somewhat disorganised service. My food was good but then it is hard...More

The pub is great on the inside and out and appears welcoming and friendly.... oops appearances aren't everything. The food was very good if somewhat on the small size for the price but that's not the issue. The service is awful, the one waitress out...More

Visited as a group of 6 for a booked evening meal. Disappointing. The place was very busy and the seating wasn't very comfortable for our group. The service was extremely slow with no apologies. My partner and I ordered the roast sirloin. The meat was...More

Situated in the pretty seaside village of Walberswick, with views from the rooms and terraces over to the sand dunes, beach and sea. A short walk to the beach, wonderful walks to Dunwich and Southwold.A cosy pub with a log fire in the bar, restaurant and family room. We have 10 comfortable bedrooms, 4 in the main Arts & Craft building and 6 garden chalets, clad in eco-sourced wood. The garden chalets have sofas and outside seating for sunny days. We also have 3 dog friendly chalets with French doors opening onto the back garden.
