A nice setting, with ample parking. Plenty of indoor and outside seating. Nice range of well kept beers , with a notice board showing, what's on and what's coming which is a nice idea. We hand Timothy Taylor landlord, and it was in good condition. Service is fast and professional -- we felt welcome and couldn't have been looked after... More

Haven't been to this place for a few years as it changed hands just before my last visit and I didn't dare go back. But go back we did and I was pleased to see it was back to what I remembered. We visited just to have a drink and see if things had changed, after a quick chat at... More

We arrived about 2.30 on a sunny Sunday and the large car park was almost full. So we were amazed at how quickly our food arrived. It was an excellent menu with a wide range of choices and prices. I had the salmon salad and my husband had an antipasti sharing platter with chips. The food was very good (lots... More

Went to this place for Sunday lunch today. The extensive menu did not have any indication of locally grown produce or seasonality. Average food without any flair of excellence. The place was quite busy, the plates coming out looked loaded. Not sure if there was any consideration of the calorific value. Lamb was fatty with sinew but acceptable. Trout was... More

We visited here today and was pleasantly surprised to see it back to how it used to be. Lovely atmosphere, food tasty and presented lovely - with a great choice on offer. Clean toilets, that actually smelt clean. Friendly, welcoming staff... What more could you wish for on a beautiful spring day! Great to see this establishment has had some... More

Arrived early, seated straightaway, think they were waiting for us. Sat in nice corner of lounge, pleased with where we sat. All mains were cooked nice and were tasty. Was asked if we wanted desert menu, then had to remind the waiter who asked us 15 mins later, could tell he had forgotten, but apologised. Ordered cheese and biscuits to share, only given 4 crackers, but when we... More

I always stress when trying to find somewhere to take my parents for dinner as my dad is quite traditional so this was perfect. The large menu meant that there was something for everyone. We booked a table as it was a Saturday night so it did get very busy. This did not impact the level of service we received... More

Family dinner out, I recommend booking in advance, this place is very popular. We arrived 15 minutes early, table was ready for us. Excellent selection of beers, cider and lager. I had a pint of London Pride, this was excellent. Sat down to dinner, I had the French onion soup to start, followed by the Sirloin Steak, my wife had... More

Visited for my wife's birthday lunch. The food was very nice, which is usual again these days at this establishment. My wife's chicken salad was brilliant especially with the amount of chicken. With the drinks outside and a beautiful spring day sitting on the terrace was a lovely experience....for the first 20 mins!!! Unfortunately the eating experience was spoiled by another... More
