Home away from Home

I really enjoyed being pampered by the staff here. It seems a family owned establishment, so I guess that is why the experience was awesome. The food was delicious. The staff where very helpful and pleasant. Loved spending so must time in the garden, very well maintained.

Yummy Food

Yummy Food.We enjoyed dining at The Soods Garden Retreat “The room with a view” Restaurant .The Indian food is undoubtedly the best in the town.The staff were attentive and courteous and to top it all they organised a born fire for us making our dining all the more delightful.

It's a beautiful hotel and room was beautiful too with open view of Kanchenjunga and there is a small backyard, l loved enjoying my breakfast with rising sun and winter breeze in the garden, parking area was small bt homely atmosphere, food which l got was exactly what l asked for, If this is what I get in this hotel then I have no reason to look for any other hotel.

Kalimpong for the night..room with a view

Stayed here for the night. Rooms are great and service staff are extremely accommodating and polite. If you think the view is amazing, the food is equally amazing if not satisfying. Definitely recommended recommended

Good budget hotel

Reaching there is easy. Close by a fuel station before u take an uphill turn towards the Pine View Nursery. Reception was fine n the staff were courteous. Rooms cud improve. Look for better options if you can for food as it’s not too good. Stay was comfortable.

Worst hotel ever. Please don't go for the name. It's not a Retreat at all. The service and food are one of the worst ever. I will advise tourists to avoid this place.

Thankyou for your response finally.After having your guest stayed and having posted their recommendations for our hotel & the outstandings crossing over 50000 not yet paid & yourself staying complimentary for four times that too one one of your stays you were dead sick and we nursed you and accompanied you till your wife came and took you back home.This is what we get as a reward from your good side.Losses & instead of paying back the dues to top it up you repay us with a review.Indeed a bad experience giving you credit for your business.Lesson learnt well.Thank You.Wishing you good health & happiness!

Good food, high price though

The hotel has a nice restaurant in the ground floor which was very close to our room as well. We used to have breakfast there as we ordered dinner in the room. They did not provide us complimentary breakfast so we had to buy stuffs. We had sandwiches and tea which was good but highly priced. Infact our sandwich had only two pieces of bread (which they do mention in the menu card) Tea is also very expensive but they do provide electric kettle in the room. Main courses were rather filling. We had chicken fried rice and chilli chicken which was really good both by quantity and quality and definitely worth the price.

Everything was just perfect...

Mesmerising views of Kanchenjunga from the room and almost every corner of the property. Extremely helpful and courteous staff. They bring the personalised touch to the place. And yummy food. Everything we had there was well made. It’s also very well located so the main market is just a walk away and yet you are away from the hustle bustle of the main corner. If you are there in the peak of winter you are in for a treat...the have electrically heated mattress. The sound of the church bells ringing in the distance on a Sunday morning makes it even more charming. If in Kalimpong a visit to Gompu’s is a must and try out their pork momos, it’s the best momos have ever tasted. A quaint little town just right for a do-nothing holiday.

A homely stay

A nice place to spend vacation. Can't forget Dipika at reception, she was so lively and helpful to make our stay comfortable. Nice view of mountain and valley from the room. Radiation rod room heater was not very effective in cold night. Bathroom was not very spacious. Overall stay was enjoyable.

Restaurant is a part of the hotel. Caters generally to the residents. No parking space if you drive down yourself. Good is just about ok. Ambience is very banquet hall type. Decent place to go. Just once. Won't pull you back.

Lovely Hotel... Spacious Rooms !!!

We stayed in room 101 and it was lavish to say the least. The room had king size bed, sofa, an almost walk-in closet and the bathroom with bath tub. Check in and check out was smooth and staffs were friendly. North Indian food was good, however Chinese cuisine has a scope of improvement. There is a small kids playing area as well. Would surely like to visit again.

Very small parking place
