We started in the year 2017 on the Eastern hill that leads to Durpin Monastery. Only 10 minutes away from the main town but shrewdly secluded from the crowd, Café Kalimpong is a rendezvous to enjoy the warm company of friends, good food, and clouds rolling amidst Himalayan ranges. On clear days, you can also raise a toast to the glittering view of Kalimpong town ! Our aesthetics are minimal and homely, breathing in harmony with the naturally scenic disposition of the Kalimpong hills. Our cozy outdoor space overlooks the main town and glows up in warm lights against the breezy evening sky. Here we’ve assembled a laid-back library with some of our favourite books that you can read, refer, or research over a strong cup of coffee. Cafe kalimpong is not just a palace where you enjoy good food, it is a safe haven for artists, musicians, gamers, poets and writers. We’re always abuzz here with the several of our local artists and their creations.

Where foodies and naturalists converge, Cafe Kalimpong emerge.
An outstanding restaurant in the lap of Kalimpong hills this place provides a picturesque view of the whole town, outstretched horizon where the mountains gradually disperse with the clouds and blues of the sky. The scenic extravagance is withheld in the lush green pine trees and the perfect juxtaposition of red sloping roofs amidst. Such a view, far from the mundane lifestyle, provides tranquility and relaxation--- both for the eyes and mind. An immaculate proportion of natural excellence and harmonious environment pulpits Cafe Kalimpong.
On 2nd June 2024, during our vacation in Kalimpong, when my family and a few friends were almost famished after a long journey, our very hospitable drivers stopped at this place for a luncheon break. I fell in love with Cafe Kalimpong the moment I stepped into its wooden ambience. There was homely solace in here, complemented with its food and view. Neatly placed tables, comfortable cushioned chairs, wooden ceiling, floors in a balcony perfectly describe the restaurant's interior. Hanging lights encaged in decorative holders brightened the place as well as the moment.
We were given a warm reception in a background of windy coldness. The waiters were polite, kind and considerate as they treated us with utmost care, making it feel like a home. We sauntered through the wooden floors and got majestic views of the whole town. Being foggy and cloudy, we couldn't see the faraway ranges, but on clear days, as we were told, the Kanchenjunga makes its appearance.
We ordered steamed chicken momos, veg noodles and thupka (Tibetan noodle soup) garnished with coriander leaves. Interestingly they gave us chopsticks for the thupka with which I devoured the delicacy, but provision for forks is also there. The quality is superb with reasonable price and the seamless smile with which they serve the food, makes it all worthy.
It was a lovely afternoon spend with my family and friends at the Cafe Kalimpong. We resumed our journey after having a wholesome lunch at the cafe, that filled our stomach and heart.
It's a must visit in you ever go to Kalimpong, regardless of you being hungry or not, in order to experience the authentic feel of the serene mountains, floating clouds, streched greenary and definitely the baronial Kanchenjunga if you're lucky.

Located in Khashmahal area on East Main Road in Kalimpong this Cafe serves Italian , Nepalese and Tibetan styled fast food.
The terrace styled, semi open and simplistic ambience gives excellent mountain cafe vibes .
We were three heads and didn't book our table but got our sitted on a table overlooking a great view of the hills and the valley, immediately upon arrival. The awesome 360° panoramic view of the Kalimpong hills, the deep gorge is one of the huge take away of this Cafe.
We orderd Chicken Thukpa (Rs. 250), Chicken and vegetable Pizza (Rs. 500) and Prawn Tempura (Rs. 300).
Thupka was very good, rightly spiced with touch of tangy taste. Pizza was very well baked, the quality of cheese used was very good. Prawn Tempura was slightly over salted but nicely crispy.
Loved the place. A perfect place for good Cafe styled fast food. .Our total bill was Rs. 1050 for 3 persons. Service was great.

its a small place but definatley worth a visit. menu is small but food is very yummy.
this open air place has one of the best views of the town and you can spend hours here with a crispy burger, pizza and coffee

We came across this sweet little Cafe in Kalimpong. The place is neat and clean. The view is great from this cafe and one can enjoy some good food along with the view. Prices are reasonable as well. Bathroom however could be maintained better

Cafe Kalimpong is a lovely place by Praveen, an artist at heart and in looks. Two main attractions - lovely view from the cafe and extensive menu. Must mention that menu is non-vegetarian heavy, but it is true for almost all of Kalimpong. There are enough on the menu for us vegetarian and whatever we ordered was made to perfection. Go there early as the café closes by 7 pm. Closed on Tuesdays.

The view, the vibes, the menu, the food and the staff...so so good that we ate our lunches and took packed dinners back to our home stay all three days we were in Kalimpong. We tried a variety off the menu and they were all good. And DO order their blueberry cheesecake.

Visited this place on Mar 20 and it was under renovation. Although we could not enjoy the view over a cuppa ,the views from this point is breathtaking. If you are looking at idling away your time, sipping and reading/ being with your self ,try this cafe. Please do call to check if open before venturing.

We visited Cafe Kalimpong for lunch and the place had beautiful views from the cafe. They provide fresh local items and we tried the following there-
- Chicken Faley which were very crispy and awesome in taste
- Laphing which was nicely made but very spicy for our palate
- Chicken burger which came with fries and was good
- Chicken Ting momo which had fresh buns with chicken however the chicken could be more soft
- Sel roti with alu dum which was good
- coffee which was nicely made
The staff were very friendly and this is a must visit if you are in Kalimpong.

If you are in town, you should not miss to visit for a coffee & cake or whatever. I had a Vietnamese coffee and a cheesecake. Both very delicious. The ambience is also very nice.

okie so I hade such a lot of fun eating food there!! And especially the pork noches and the chilled drinks!!I really enjoyed a lot! I loved the taste of the foods!!
