We visited here for lunch but were very disappointed as most of the dishes we ordered could not be made because they said the kitchen had just opened and the tandoor was not lit up. Already the menu is very basic and small....nothing much to...choose. But we wanted a few starters from the tandoor like paneer tikka and dahi ke soole. For bread we wanted Naan but they could only serve tawa roti which we eat everyday at home. One does not go to a heritage restaurant to eat compromised everyday meal. Even the north east spl dishes, they said will take 45 mins to be served so we could not eat that too. We had to compromise on our choices totally and had to order a few chinese starters which we din't want. They don't even have basic chips so that if they are taking long to serve , we order chips for children to munch. No lukewarm water for rinsing hands was given. Even mouth freshner/ saunf was not served at the end . Plates were looking wet and the waiter wiped with a tissue paper. They did not look like they came out of the autoclave in these covid times which is a must expected from a high end restaurant. Serving time was too long. Very disappointing.More

It is a heritage hotel, once owned by the Maharaja of Tripura. Limited rooms but good service, friendly staff, great food. The heart of the hotel is its courtyard, right in the centre of the hotel. One can book the hotel for a family function.

There are three restaurants having nice ambience. The food though limited in variety is great. The service was also good.

We stayed 2 nights at the Heritage Club. The restaurant has a good ambience, but we weren't too happy with the North-Indian food preparations. Bar was nice though.

This Oriental restaurant ' The Madalay' is located at the Hotel Tripua Castle Heritage Club in Shillong. The following is my  experience at the restaurant ( Rating in a Scale of 5, 5 being highest):- A. Location : At the Forest Wing of Hotel The...Heritage Club Tripura Castle, in Cleve Coloney, Tripura Castle Road in Shillong. For a non resident diners not having vehicle it is a long steep walk of about 20 minutes. (Rating 3.5) B. Cuisine : Oriental cuisine . (Rating 4) C. Ambience: The heritage decor of the hall with dark floor with off white wooden wall and high roof gives it a great heritage feeling. The old styled furniture with thick rexined dark upholstery looks good. Old photographs archieved on the walls added to the ambience. There is a option of sitting outside as well.(Rate 4.5). D. Food tried : We had our dinner at the place. We ordered Hakka Chicken Noodles (Rs. 300/-), Dry boneless Chilly Chicken (Rs. 300/-). For dessert, we ordered Dessert of the day, which was fried noodles with honey and served with vanilla ice cream (Rs. 250/-). Food was well prepared and tasty. (Rating 4) E. Food taste: Food was well cooked. Chicken was slightly hard but was authentic in taste. ( Rating 4.) F. Food presentstion : Food presentation was good (Rating 4.5). G. We stayed at Heritage Tripura for 4 nights and tried all their 3 restaurants. Most of our breakfast buffet was served at Mandalay (valley wing) as well as the main heritage wing. Both breakfast buffet were standard with choices of south and north indian dishes...as well as eggs and sometimes chinese options like hakka noodles, chicken etc. Breakfast was ok, standard - eggs were really good and i also loved their potato and veggie cutlets - yum! We used to always finish breakfast with assam tea and puri with cherra honey :) We had lunch/dinner couple times at the forest wing restaurant and food was good but i wouldn't say outstanding - we mainly tried their chinese items like chicken hakka noddles (too dry), satay chicken (again dry), momos (bit too thick) and some gravy dishes like chilly pork and szechuan noodles which were good items. Overall food is standard and good for hotel food but there is definitely better food outside the hotel.More

The hotel is nice . It is spread over a large area . All the rooms are not in Ione campus . It’s is on one single road but scattered . Reception is at the end of the Road . Breakfast is laid in same...premises . One should be aware about The gate from which one need to enter to get to his/ her Room . Rooms are nice . They have decent Restaurants . They even have lawn in which they can serve you food & drinks . Food is above average . I think it is among top three places to stay in Shillong .More
