A proper restaurant experience on the island and the only place to get a diet coke

Bonova is a proper restaurant standing in all its glory with an air conditioned, modern interior close to the jetty. Service: very friendly, honest staff. Our waiter was Raj who was very helpful in recommending dishes and went the extra mile by helping us contact our rickshaw (tuk tuk) driver to pick us up. Drinks: from our experience, the only place on the island that could serve diet coke. Cocktails were delicious we tried a gin sling and Caribbean mojito. Food: the tandoori seafood platter could be hotter (we like our food served piping hot) but the taste was very good and at mild spiciness as requested. The crab was difficult to eat however with the shell tough and requiring implements to crack open which weren’t supplied. It was enough for two people without the need for a starter. They also served pizzas and burgers as well. The dessert was a sizzling brownie with ice cream that served two and was very good. Vibe: lovely decor, comfortable seats and live music which was of excellent quality Value: two cocktails, a diet coke, the seafood platter and sizzling brownie came to R3900, which was the most expensive place we dined on the island but worth it and only equates to just over £40 Go again? 100% and would strongly recommend.

Paradise in havelock island! Awesome place to chill with friends or family,probably best place in havelock! food is delicious and service is impeccable...dj is mind blowing which will make you dance even if you are not in the mood, live music is soothing which perfectly blend with the atmosphere at the cafe...we went there for a birthday party and it was blast! Fantastic time spent on the untouched paradise Swaraj Deep island 🌴. We visited bonova cafe at seashell resort everyday during our stay.The food was delicious and service was impeccable. The seafood platter was amezing and thanks to manager Mr. Barun for the suggestion even all the food what we ordered during our visit it was outstanding 10/10. To make your evening more memorable they have live karaoke music in the cafe . Thanks to Padmini to sing song for us on our special request. Not to forget to visit their pub if you are looking for party on the island with DJ NY . Great Dj who can understand the pulse of the crowd to make you dance all night long . Must visit !!!! Highly recommended !!!

Recommend the seafood for taste, but overpriced

Loved the seafood here, slightly expensive and I doubt if they gave me the full lobster meat I ordered. I bought a full 600gm lobster and the meat definitely didn't include the claw meat which is disappointing. When I'm paying for the full 600gms, I should be served the full meat from all parts.

Havelock and the whole Andaman Islands has no indigenous cuisine. So most hotels and restaurants will give you 'Indianised' Chinese food and North Indian cuisine. After 2 meals you've had enough. Bonova was a refreshing change. They offer Mexican, Italian, Sea Food preparations and a variety of other continental foods. The food was delicious and we had very friendly, courteous staff that made us feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend a meal here if you are not staying in the hotel

Chef Ajay served us with authentic Aglio Olio (Spaghetti) & vegitable with munchurian curry...I would strongly recommend to visit this place for food. Nice ambiance and really nice staff to help. We were served by table help Milan , He is really sweet guy who served us really well. Must visit restaurant @havelock ( swaraj dweep )

Amazing Service

We visited for breakfast and found ourselves going there for lunch and dinner every day we were on the island. The staff are amazing. When we asked for directions somewhere they would take the effort of walking us there rather than pointing the way. The food was incredible, particularly the seafood. Pricing was very reasonable and I highly reccommend the BBQ lobster. The manager and staff were very keen to make us feel welcomed and gave 100 percent effort in ensuring our experience was memorable. We absolutely loved this place.

Best food in the entire Havelock

We came to this place and thoroughly enjoyed the food , whatever food we ordered was excellent. First day we ordered the veg garden pizza which was delicious along with Fried rice and dragon paneer. After superb first day we came again to this place and we ordered Veg sizzler , dragon chopsuey and Veg trio satay which was mouthwatering. We were 3 nights in Havelock and this was the best of all the places we tried. Thank you to Chef Ajay and Milan who served us.

The best restaurant/café in Havelock

You don't have to worry what you're ordering because you will love it no matter what! This is inarguably the best restaurant in Havelock with a myriad of cuisines to offer. The vibe of the restaurant hits right at the spot, the moody tone theme, walls decorated with fish frames, kettles representing the variety of tea culture and 80s rock/classic music bind together to offer you the perfect experience. Chef Ajay prepared everything to perfection, do try the fish - it will be extra tender and utterly flavourful! The manager, Mr. Ajay, is as good as a host can be! He welcomed us with such warmth that we instantly feel at ease. The staff further complemented this experience by offering exceptional service - especially Prince, Milan and Sam. What we ordered across our multiple visits: Clear Chicken Soup: 5/5 Lemon Butter Fish: 5/5 (must try) Créme Bruleé: 3/5 Veg Kebab Satay: 5/5 Veg Garden Green Pizza: 4/5 Whole Tandoori Fish: 5/5 (must try) Apple Crumble Pie: 4/5 Chicken Slice Double Decker Burger: 5/5 Café Frappé: 4/5 I highly recommend a meal at bo no va!

One of the better restaurants on the island

Bonova is one of the few slightly more upmarket places on Havelock Island. It is still fairly rustic, but with a more refined ambience, and service is somewhat more polished and professional than in most restaurants. The menu is quite eclectic with a lot of fusion type dishes. We decided to have a drink before ordering the food. I fancied a cocktail, and my Mai Tai was decent enough; my partner stuck with a nice lime juice. The drinks were accompanied by complimentary papadams. My partner chose a Indian Thai vegetarian nam prik biryani, which of course was neither, but good enough. He said the flavours could have been a bit spicier. I had an enticing sounding chipotle prawn and rice wrap. Unfortunately this dish fell short of my expectations: the wrap itself was a bit stodgy, and the flavours were quite bland, I hardly tasted the smoky chipotle. We then shared a rather yummy tiramisu cake (some of the other desserts were not available), accompanied by some very acceptable Lavazza cappucino. Although the food was not quite what we had hoped for, but perfectly palatable, the evening was rather enjoyable with good service and a pleasant atmosphere. The bill, including tip, was INR3800; roughly what we expected.

Casual serving of Chicken for a orthodox vegetarian family having clearly spelt out what should be served

They served us Chicken after we told them strictly vegetarian and not even Mushrooms to be included. And they were very casual in saying they made a mistake, charged us for the soup and starters they served us. Before even we realised what is happening, the greedy chef came asking for “good review” in Trip Advisor! Hotels and restaurants like this have. Omplace to exist in any platform, least in Trip Advisor. PleSe verify this fact and delist them.

Good food, great music!

I had a great time on Havelock island in november, it was the perfect ending of my one month trip to India. Beautiful beaches and good food! Bonova Café was one of this places, with both indian and international cuisine, and it also has live music and and a really cool disco upstairs with DJ Nikhil who plays indian and international dance music. He is a really cool guy and was very helpful with information on the island ! I hope I will be able to return soon!

Awesome food and great service

We visited this place during our stay at Havelock and the food was just so good that we ended up repeating visits 2-3 times which is so not my thing. If given a chance I love to visit every single restaurant in a place I am visiting to taste the different cuisines, but Bonova made me want to do encores. Sejal who helped us with the orders requires a special mention since she went out of her way to make sure we had the best items. Thus I ended up in love with every dish I ordered since I had help on the choice. their chilly wine fish and apple crumble pie especially was yumm!! A must visit when you are in Havelock.

Beautiful spot at the heart of Havelock Island

This restaurant is a beautiful spot for relaxing and hanging out with your friends/family, munching on some really great food and jamming to some relaxing music. The ambience is brilliant, food is just lovely and the staff is extremely welcoming. Special mention to Mr. Milan Mondal for the extreme attention he paid to all our special requests and the warmth with which he made our experience really memorable. Would definitely recommend if you visit the island.
