I would return to Canton just to eat at Benders again! I had a seafood chowder as good as you would find anywhere. It came with a salad that was unexpectedly large with a terrific dressing. My wife's quiche was reported to be excellent as well. It is located in a building dating to the late 19th century with an... More

Old school charm, roaring '20's/gangster vibe. It's been said that Al Capone himself has been in that restaurant before. Menu is very diverse, food is excellent. It is pretty expensive, but the food and atmosphere is worth it.

I have enjoyed Benders for 20 years. But two recent experiences were consistently bad, indicating that the magic is gone. On both occasions, my food was overcooked and plated with zero regard to presentation. And my recent visit, a Tuesday evening with very light traffic, we received terrible service. A ten-minute wait for a beverage order was followed by a... More

Amy was our server... She was WONDERFUL. She had recommendations from the menu. All of which was SUPERFANTASTIC. We were just walking around Canton and sampling some of the area restaurants. We had the turtle soup(which was tasty), the salmon appetizer and the oysters on the half shell. We sat outside, such a wonderful evening in November(lol). I would recommend... More

Was a treat to have our annual event do their dinner at Benders. While a bit expensive for northeast Ohio, the food did not disappoint. We were with a large group which they handled very well. I had a great Kurobata pork chop and my wife really enjoyed her entree of oysters. The folks with us loved their steaks. Benders... More

Downtown old style pup had a great atmosphere, a really good menu with lots of choices for a reasonable prices. The food was really good. It took a little longer than we wanted for lunch but not unreasonable long. Not food related, but notice the front step when you go in, it is hollowed out from years and years of... More

I met friends in Canton while we were there for a special event. We asked a police officer where was a good place to eat, and he recommended Bender's. It is an old tavern that once had separate entrances for men and women. There are multiple rooms, all looking old and regal. The food and the service were impeccable.

Old (1902) bar/tavern/restaurant in downtown landmark. Tin ceilings, an awesome wood bar, stained glass, old murals. The history is staggering. You can easily see and feel yourself back in pre-Prohibition days sitting at the bar (without the spittoons, of course). Food is also great. Just makes for a good evening

The food and the service were awesome. There was a varied menu. The temperature was delicious. It came quickly. The waiters checked on our table many times. We also met the 4th generation owner😊

Thank Jayne L
