We visited here as part of a tour, but its somewhere I would come to for a trip out of Cairns any day. We did the boat trip around the lake, which was interesting and just a little to fast to have a good look at the edge of the lake, but the owner who took us, was so knowledgeable... More

Sat on the open porch area with our tea and scones, very quiet and peaceful. The lake, a crater lake, was tranquil. As part of our tour to the area we took the boat ride around the lake watching for wildlife, birds, turtles and listened to the owner tell the history. Saw a blue butterfly (think a Ulysses) in the... More

A peaceful place, great view on the lake with ducks and turtles and delicious scones... The rest of the food is pretty average.

We had morning tea here overlooking the lake. Food was good and didn't take long. Service great but a little more expensive than I expected.

This is a wonderful location to enjoy a delicious Devonshire cream tea, overlooking Lake Barrine, a crater lake surrounded by rainforest. We went on the 45-minute lake cruise ($18) which was lovely. Joy, our pilot, told us all about the history of the tearooms (built in 1927 when the Gillies Highway opened), the environmental and ecological aspects of the lake,... More

Easy access with plenty of parking. Relaxing walking around the gardens admiring the variety of plants. Very rustic looking building and welcoming. We walked around the building on the patio admiring the water views. The food is totally scrumpious. There is a boat ride available to enjoy more views of the lake and the multitude of wildlife. Lovely decore. They... More

This one is special. Fantastic location right on Lake Barrine with panoramic views. Coffee is excellent. Scones with jam and cream were wonderful. Prices are reasonable (my cup of coffee and scones with jam and cream was just $10). The girl who served me was friendly and actually made conversation. Plenty of tourist information outside as well. Highly recommended.

Cairns Local, we go to the tea house fairly regularly, I would recommend the Devonshire tea, very nice scenery and the climate is just that little bit cooler. The Lake itself is beautiful, as is lake Eacham.
