We had a very good meal, but it wasn't such good value for money once you added in the extras - such as vegetables. I much prefer when such essentials are already included in the cost of the plate. Certainly nothing wrong with the food,...More

Stop off between walks in the Peaks. Brunch served to 5pm including Eggs Benedict that would put London Bistros to shame. I had, uncharacteristically, the avacado and halloumi burger. So glad I gave I did, it was amazing!! Lovely service, nice ambience.More

We ordered brunch as we passed through the town and it was expensive and hugely disappointing. The breakfast tomatoes tasted of bacon which is shocking if you are a vegetarian. The toast wasn't buttered under the scrambled eggs which were cold, dry and over seasoned...More

Description
Fresh, local food with an honest approach served in a welcoming yet eclectic setting. Mercia was born out of a shared family passion with three simple ideas at it’s core; high quality local produce, wholesome food and great service. You’ll find us in Wirksworth, a small creative town nestled in Derbyshire’s beautiful Peak District, we serve a variety of high quality, nourishing, home cooked food all made fresh to order by our devoted chefs. We only work with local suppliers, (within a 30 mile radius of Wirksworth). An ethos that is very close to our hearts, supporting local British farmers and growers who grow and rear only the finest produce, delivered straight to your table, whether it be the freshest salad leaves from our grower in nearby Kniveton, or high quality meats from our friends up at the Pig Tale farm near Belper, we make it a conscious decision to work with local suppliers. We’re open daily from 9:00am – 10:30pm, available for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks. Come and experience our ambient ground foor restaurant, enjoy a cocktail in our ‘secret bar’ hidden away upstairs, or watch the world go by on our outide terrace area with one of our carefully chosen world wines or local Thornbridge ales.
