Me and the wife went for Sunday lunch at the Shoulder of Mutton Oakthorpe. The pub had a quiet atmosphere but warm and friendly and the Pedigree was in top form from the bar. I choose the roast lamb Sunday lunch with a large portion. The restaurant catered for my gluten allergy and adjusted the main and dessert to suit.... More

Tooked away in the village of Oakthorpe is this little gem. Not many real olde worlde pubs left like this so well worth the visit. There is ample parking. It's a lovely village pub/restaurant, fab food and friendly staff. I had the tandoori chicken for starter and I honestly couldn't fault it, it was lovely. Would definitely come back again.

We found this gem of a pub for weekday lunches by accident they have a good menu and daily specials which weve tried and liked.Definitely try the homemade pies they are really good but if you want a brill Sunday lunch then its worth a visit. Visited with a group of friends,. Found staff extremely accomodating supplying menues adapted to varying requirements. Pub was typical of english surroundings. Found this little dog friendly gem via a local village mag.Have visited several times on a dog walk and were so impressed we booked Christmas day for lunch,everything was perfect and wonderful, helpful friendly staff...thank you.

Visited the restaurant last night .the food and service were fantastic. Grace served us and could not have been more helpful. All four meals were presented lovely and we're a delight to eat very flavoursome a credit to the chef. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Decided to drop in for a meal and so glad we did!!! JULIE the landlady and her very attentive staff gave us the choice of eating in the restaurant, or the main bar area.
