We popped in here after struggling to find space elsewhere near by. Glad we did. Food was wholesome very good quality homemade English pub food, the pie was especially good. The beer choice is nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly all round. Would recommend to anyone looking for quality pub food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We went to the Wheatsheaf for Mothering Sunday dinner. The owner-manager Len is super friendly and made us feel immediately welcome. We had traditional Sunday carvery which was lovely - plenty of meat and it tasted excellent. We also had desserts all of which are home-made and of great quality. And you will not be disappointed with the size of... More

This is my third review (over a few years) which I am submitting only because there has been another change in management and the changes merit mentioning. We were a large group of friends eating together one Saturday evening. Because of the size of the group we were asked to submit our food orders in advance so as to ensure... More

12 of us called in for lunch on a Saturday. We were greeted by friendly staff and even the chef came out to tell us about food not listed on the menu. Exceptionally good value and the food was some of the best pub grub I've ever had. It's slightly off the beaten track of the main road through Glossop... More

Sunday roast at 7pm. Might have been ok at lunchtime. Meat tough, vegetables overcooked, cauliflower grey like it had been standing in dish water. Roast potatoes not crispy. To the Chef's credit he was very helpful re. Gluten free diet. And we did get a reduction in our bill when we complained.

Hi . Sorry to hear about your visit on sunday . As was explained to yourself at the time we refunded 50% of your bill as a good will gesture. As there was nothing left on your plates at the time of complaint. So I took your word the food was not to your satisfaction. I was obviously concerned so... More

Called in here purely by chance on the way home. Sunday menu (roasts) as well as other choices. Bijoux little pub with a room set aside for eating. Good reviews on TA - justified by our experience. Home cooked food of great quality, good taste and more than adequate portion size. The chips accompanying my meal were a pleasant surprise... More

We went to the Spanish Tapas night last night and unfortunately we left after only an hour a little underwhelmed. There was no Spanish music or atmosphere and the food wasn't very good. What could have been an amazing night with a bit more planning was disappointing. The staff are lovely however and the English meals being brought out of... More
