This is the worst place I have ever been, avoid it like the plague! We went for afternoon tea, the owner is rude and quite frightening. The place is dirty and the service was awful, cups chipped, tea served in a chipped coffee plunger. Scones...More

Got a far as the door when I saw the grotty looking cook/owner coughing up and spitting out his stomach contents on the door step. The stench ouzing out of the door also put me off. Place should be closed down.

Not sure how we managed to patronise this awful place which, in basic terms, brings shame to Castleton. We noticed the owner in the area before entering, not realising who he was, but when he followed us upstairs we foolishly felt obliged to patronise this...More

Rudest service ever experienced in a cafe. Such a scowling lizard faced service and truly atrocious coffee to boot. I'd rather sip water from a puddle next time - rains enough in this city. Foul!

First cafe we stumbled on after a walk! Having no cash we checked that they accepted cards, which it clearly states on the door which are accepted!! The "charity shop" downstairs was dirty and fusty but we still went upstairs for drinks for some unknown...More

If only I had checked Trip Advisor before stopping here for a grimy cup of tea and a stale microwaved scone served with sour cream in the grottiest surroundings. Only the view could be commended. Sadly I think the location of what looks like a...More

...... but what we actually found was Steptoe's back yard with Uncle Albert from 'Only fools and horse's' as the waitress !! We were feeling cold after coming out of Peak Cavern and needed a hot cuppa and cream scone to warm us up. The...More

Called for snack on a cold afternoon. If I hadn't been with my niece and her young son (who was fractious as he was hungry), I would have walked straight back out of the place. Met with junk shop on the ground floor and dark,...More

Blisteringly cold day so we were thankful for a place to stop in and have a hot drink. We ordered a combination of hot tea, coffee and chocolate along with "handmade" scones. The scones were a little odd - he claimed he made them every...More

Nothing funny about this place. Our neighbour went in May and the bill for awful food and cold coffee was £78 for 4 people. Ploughman's Lunches all round and scones all round plus a coffee each. Almost £20 for a ploughman's... More
