Popped in for a bite to eat on our way home, nice old pub with plenty of character. Food was nice and a great selection of pies to choose from. Good selection of ales and dog friendly.

Ancient pub that has probably not been altered since it was converted from a farmhouse a few centuries ago ! Very cosy, open fires, good beers, busy, food available. Need to be happy sitting close to other customers, but a lovely experience

Great traditional English pub offering great ales, meals and snacks. Love the roaring log fires on a winters day and the lovely ambience. Always busy which isn't surprising.More

Description
A warm welcome awaits you at our family run pub, a hub for real ale drinkers and walkers alike. A traditional 17th century village inn, where highwayman Dick Turpin is reported to have frequented on his travels. An increasingly rare breed of unspoilt inn, where time has stood still, encapsulating the character and charm of the building. With fresh homecooked food, a selection of fine real ales and warmth from the open fires, there is much to tempt you. Nothing comes close to our pork pie and a pint!
