The food quality and variety are excellent, the service is efficient and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They offer two sizes of roast dinner and having the smaller one leaves room to enjoy one of their delicious starters and desserts. They stock a...More

On a rare sunny Bank Holiday Monday we visited the Black Boy Inn for a quick bite to eat. Although there is a sit down restaurant we opted instead for the Bar Menu so that we could enjoy the sunshine outside. The rear “Beer Garden”...More

We visited The Black Boy on Bank Holiday Monday, I found the food very ordinary, the eating area was stifling with no windows apart from two skylights which were closed, on a very hot day, I found it very uncomfortable, but the most alarming thing...More

Never seen a dog in the restaurant or the bar on any occasion but regularly see them outside with owners on a warm evening. The Good Pub Guide states no dogs but how old that information is I don't know.

I think they do open on a Sunday evening. I advise you to ring and book yourself a table. The Black Boy is very popular on Sunday. Hopefully you can manage to book a table on the day you require. Enjoy your meal.

This is a traditional village pub which has a restaurant area and does very good, simple food, that is cooked fresh to order. The bar area has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and an extension has created an additional dining area which is disabled friendly.
