I have visited this pub many times for snacks and lunches with friends. On every visit we have had a very warm welcome from the staff, and excellent food from the kitchen. The menu gives a wide choice of English food, excellent beers and other...More

Visit here for lunch every few weeks as part of a large group. Good local Pub, with great choice of beers and decent food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and cope well with multiple simultaneous orders. Always an enjoyable visit.

I hadn’t been here for a long time. Due to everyone else being busy, and my wife having to travel out of the county, I found myself with a couple of hours to spare after church (Loscoe Baptist), before the World Cup final. The weather...More

The service was fine and my friend and I were allocated a choice of 2 tables when we arrived. My gripe was the lasagne, if they cannot make a better lasagne they would be better taking it off the menu. It was the worst lasagne...More

We had been recommended this place by others but this was our first visit. We were not disappointed. The home-made roast lunches were superb - both in quantity and quality - and the service very efficient and friendly. The beer wasn't bad either and the...More

Hi. Although relatively quiet on the Sunday afternoon we visited I would recommend you booking a table to avoid disappointment.

Never seen a dog in the restaurant or the bar on any occasion but regularly see them outside with owners on a warm evening. The Good Pub Guide states no dogs but how old that information is I don't know.

I think they do open on a Sunday evening. I advise you to ring and book yourself a table. The Black Boy is very popular on Sunday. Hopefully you can manage to book a table on the day you require. Enjoy your meal.

This is a traditional village pub which has a restaurant area and does very good, simple food, that is cooked fresh to order. The bar area has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and an extension has created an additional dining area which is disabled friendly.
