Lovely cafe next to the river in a retail-converted industrial area. Taking a toddler and a 6 month year old we were happy to find kiddies table, toys and books along with quick service to avoid the pending tantrums. Good food, and good prices. Will visit again..

Mid week lunch visit mad busy as always.Special board said Shepherds pie £7.10.When it came it was 50% pie tasty and good but not hot enough the other half of the plate salad and a pot of picked beetroot pickled in savage vinegar.Yes a wholesome meal but left feeling as though it was a branch of Weightwatchers I had just... Brilliant location but same, same, same old story. The Point of Sale is just terrible. There's only enough space for one worker to execute sales and there is always a LONG WAIT to be served. Please, please put a couple of tills in and make your customer focussed sales area bigger.

I have been coming to this cafe for years and years. The food is good, nothing amazing but value for money with most things coming with a salad consisting of more than a few lettuce leaves. The chilli or a jacket potato is a good choice. Despite the good food the service has always been somewhat cold and uninviting. I... More

Been to Wheelbase looking at bikes and popped in for lunch. I had Wilf's famous veggie chilli and the other half had the meaty special which was cottage pie. Absolutely gorgeous. Generous, tasty portions. Both came with a side salad which was far from your usual bit of cucumber , tomato and lettuce, a lovely variety of grated carrots, chopped... More

Been here several times since moving to the area and it has always been good. The food is great with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. I like the salads but need to head back soon to try a few of their specials which friends always say are great.

On a return to the cottage from a day out at Windermere we popped in (6 off us) to Wilfs Cafe for a snack. Hot Chocolates, Cream Scones with coffee or tea all reasonably priced and tasty. Whilst we did taste a full meal we saw a number of meals being brought out and they looked really good. The ground... More

A number of friends have raved about this place so I was curious to try it. Reasonably priced, tasty food & prompt service. Dog friendly which I know is important to some (not me!). A good experience but it didn't for me stand out from many other establishments in the area. perhaps with so many recommending it I'd expected too... More

I stopped at Wilf's for breakfast after visiting the nearby excellent Wheelbase bike shop. From the seats occupied downstairs, it was no more than 50% full. The food was fine. However, the service was very poor. I ordered at 10.00 and my food arrived at 10.30. I checked at 10.25 because of the delay to be told that my meal... More

This place is embedded in the local folklore of South Lakeland. Most tourists don't find it but the locals pack it out every day of the week. At lunchtime it has a happy, buzzy atmosphere and there's seating outside both at the front and at the back overlooking the river and pretty countryside. The food is great. There are certain... Description
Our Cafe is tricky to find at the back of The Mill Yard by the river, but deserves to be found for all sorts of reasons.... Based in the old Bobbin Loft with some of the old line workings still in place, we have traditional seating plus a cozy sofa area inside plus decking over looking the river Kent for warmer days.
