It is six years since we last stayed at the Brook House Inn. Far too long! Aided by glorious weather we have had another 2 fantastic days in the Eskdale Valley which in our view is the nicest part of Cumbria. Food, drink and service...More

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here. We had eaten there over a year ago and had a really good experience and when we returned we were very glad we did. Great food, good allergy options with labelled menu for those who are...More

We visited on Good Friday and just arrived without a booking. They were happy to fit us in (a group of 8, four adults and 4 children) but we would have to wait. The bar area was very busy, but we eventually got a table....More

Imagine the scene: we're walking in the beautiful Western Lakes, it's a fresh spring day and the pub in the centre of the village is packed. We elect to find a table at the Book House. Dogs are welcome so that's a bonus. The place...More

Staff are friendly. Dogs welcome and the coffee comes in a coffee pot. Delicious. I had the soup starter which was tasty and my wife had mixed meat platter. Again tasty but my wife thought the rolls were a little dry. Main meals were beef...More

The bar was very quiet and not much atmosphere although the staff were very pleasant which helped make the visit. The beef and beer pie was good in fact the visit was good overall

We booked here as a last minute weekend break with our son. We booked 2 rooms, a single and a double for 2 nights. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the main selling point for this place has to be the food, real ale...More

Absolutely blown away by this place. We were greeted with the warmest welcome and the service throughout the evening was exceptional. Lovely wine, but the real surprise was the food, starters were prepared with a focus on interesting flavour combos and the pie we had...More

A cold miserable Thursday night I really didn't want to drive far but I keep reading and hearing good reviews regarding this pub/restaurant. The wife and I arrived around 6 pm to find the pub quite quiet to be expected this time of year. We...More

Description
Our imaginative menu, including vegetarian options and scrumptious puddings, is complemented by blackboard specials and a varied wine list. Delicious home-made food is available all day. Dining in our restaurant, bar or snug is always a pleasure. We serve real ales, treated on their journey from barrel to bar with tender loving care. These include Cumbria Legendary Ales Langdale, Hawkshead and a range of guest beers from Local Brewers such as Yates, Barngates and Ennerdale. We also have beers from many others brewers around the Country.Brook House Inn is one of the 3 hosts of the Boot Beer Festival, Boot Beer Festival is held in June every year and is one of the biggest beer festivals in the Lake District. Don't forget we also have 180 Malt Whiskies to try!
