Found this place whilst looking for a traditional local pub which serves homemade food. Fantastic find and food was delicious. Highly recommend the pies and mushroom risotto. Staff are lovely and friendly and the atmosphere is brilliant especially with the traditional log fires. Will be visiting again for the Sunday lunch as that looked like a fantastic deal. Also serves... More

Arranged to meet friends for a Sunday lunch drink at the Palmer Arms in Dorney but on arrival realised there was not enough room for four non-diners so on the spur of the moment suggested the Oak and Saw in nearby Taplow. Found a table by the very welcoming coal and log fire and during a very nice pint of... More

Lovely atmosphere, staff very attentive & efficient, food was very very good quality, locally sourced ingredients, including succulent local steaks, great deal on the wine. A weekend away for two couples visiting Windsor, Eton & Runnymede to celebrate a birthday, glad we found this place.

Lovely pub grub and good beer (for the South). The staff are very friendly and there seemed to be a number of locals there as well which made the pub feel cosy and genuine.

On recommendation a group of six of us went to this pub looking for a traditional roast lunch and we were not disappointed. Whilst there were other foods to choose from my party wanted roast and we had a choice of lamb, beef or pork at between £12.50 - £12.95 the plates were full when they arrived of delicious crunchy... A random find to have a quick bite to eat. The service was fast, friendly and the food was excellent. Local beer was great and the staff were extremely accommodating to find us a lovely lunch even though the kitchen had almost closed. I would recommend to all.

Had a great steak meal tonight. £25 for fillet. Comes with loads of fat crispy chips, mushroom, vine tomatoes, crispy onion rings. 2 steaks on Saturday = free bottle of house wine, which is very nice.

This Pub has always been at the heart of Taplow Village and is maintaining a good tradition in beers and food. Friendly, traditional and in a central position, its a great stop for lunch!

We are situated in the heart of the picturesque Buckinghamshire village of Taplow, close to the historic river Thames, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whether you are just dropping in for a quick drink or are planning to have a meal, you can always expect a warm and friendly welcome and a place where you can relax and get away from the stresses and strains of daily life. Our extensive menus cover everything from a quick snack to three course meals. We also have a good selection of fine wines from which you can choose to complement your meal. In the summer months, you can, if you wish, eat alfresco on our lovely patio or in the garden. There are many places of historical interest nearby, including Cliveden House, former home of Lord and Lady Astor, which was infamously associated with the 'Profumo Affair'. Also of interest is St Nicholas church, which is in the village itself.
