Great food! Both dishes were excellent. We went at about 7pm on Saturday and restaurant was dead. We weren't looking for atmosphere though, only good food and they certainly delivered.More

Dear Dimitri V, Thanks for your review and compliments regarding the quality of our food. We are thrilled to read all was greatly enjoyed. Half- term tends to be much quieter than term time as many local customers are away with their families. We hope...More

This restaurant is huge with nice garden sitting areas at rear of property for sunny days. Caters more for European taste of Indian food, i.e. dishes cooked with cream or yogurt so tastes mild and creamy, not spicy either, which I did not enjoy. Not...More

Dear missp606, We have a wide and varied menu that provides a selection of mild, medium, hot and very spicey flavoursome dishes. We would suggest opting for a Jalfrezi or Vindaloo dish on your next visit. Our staff are always on hand to recommend dishes...More

Dear John121999, We use high quality chicken so the texture may be unfamiliar to you dependent on where you choose to eat Indian food and we're not a curry house. Kind regards, Spice Merchant Group

Description
This chic restaurant in Bucks is one of a small chain of classy Indian restaurants across the south east founded by Bashir Islam.

Bashir has been part of the industry for over 30 years and wants you to enjoy yourself. Well, if he insists... This is where the Spice Merchant Group Chef, Vijay Anand, is based, so you get to savour dishes made with his own highly-experienced hands.

You can't go wrong if you start with his bataki nazrana - tender tandoori duck and potatoes encased in filo pastry, served with a sweet n' spicy red onion and mango chutney. For a refreshingly different main course order the mirchi ka kekda - peppers stuffed with kerala-style flaked crab meat served with a fabulous febugreek flavoured sauce. Plenty of veggie options and tandoori specials too.

The Spice Merchant has won various awards, the latest being an award for the best and innovative restaurant in the South.
