I have been to the Village Mangal on many occasions and last night I took two guests who had never been before. Suffice to say none of us will ever return. The service was non-existent and really embarrassing. In the end I started to clear...plates myself. I was told that "we are busy". I am not sure if that is my problem or for the restaurant to resolve.More

Extensive menu, with good portions at a reasonable price. Food is very tasty and served by friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of choice in this street near the station but this restaurant is well worth a visit

A steady decline and one too many disappointing meals. Having previously given it 5 stars I struggle to give it 1. Tonight they gave us the wrong food which was cold and some of it was burnt and other bits undercooked. The salad consisted of...lettuce and little else. No tomatoes, red cabbage or red onion. It was disgraceful. Totally ruined our evening. It is not a one off and we have given it chance after chance due to our previously having great meals here. However, as others say it has gone downhill and they have also changed their butcher as the meat is not of the same quality as before. We need some competition to drive up the standards.More

We made an impromptu visit to the Village Mangal and we were very pleased we did. The mixed grill was deliciously moist and flavoursome. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat. The service was attentive, prompt and well informed. Covid measures were in place and observed....I am looking forward to returning.More

I liked this place. Friendly staff, good food and fair value but I feel my lifespan is less important to them than their profit. Little or no social distancing, tables crammed in as normal. I saw only one table blocked off. Young couple came in...not wearing masks then just held them to their mouths until they were seated. The guy then asked the manager if he had to wear the mask to go to the toilet and he replied no don't bother and off the guy trotted, mask free in a packed restaurant. What is wrong with these people. Track and trace on the door wouldn't scan either and no address details requested. It's put me off going again. They proudly announce they're following government guidelines. Sorry, but that simply is not true.More

Food was good, but the company was better. I was asked to put on my mask on entry, but when my partner turned up 5 minutes later, he was not asked to put on a mask?

Been here about 6 times, good sized portions, but this time i think my mixed kebab was half the size of previous visits ?? Others in the group said the same. We all felt quite unconfutable in the restaurant, no social distancing going on, all...the tables are in use, strangers siting less than a foot away let alone 2 meters. I wont be coming back, such a shame, as the food is good.More

We visited on a lunchtime & we are both vegetarians. Had an excellent Turkish veg main dish & starters. There are fish dishes, too.
