We stopped for a vegetarian lunch on our way to tour the nearby convent. The setting was lovely. The service was good, not overly attentive but we didn't need that. :) The food was very good and there were many vegetarian options for a relatively reasonable price. We tried the grilled watermelon, the stuffed squash, and another dish whose name... More

It would be a shame to miss eating here if you're in Valladolid. Tentacion de Valladolid is simple, but not like anything i've had. I ate there alone, but would be a nice place for a date. Three courses for $25-$35 usd.

My husband and I were lucky enough to eat here while on a culinary and cultural tour. Not only was the food unbelievably delicious but it was by far some of the most exquisitely, beautifully plated food I've ever had the pleasure to encounter! No matter what else you may order, do not miss the grilled watermelon starter--it is truly... More

Like many of the restaurants in the area, the specialty is Yucatan food, which is pretty good and well prepared. We were particularly impressed with the "grilled watermelon", it was an unusual taste treat. The atmosphere is nice and it is close to the San Bernardino convent. The drinks are good and the staff is very attentive. The outdoor setting... More

Service was fine, food was a fail. One dish arrived cold, another missing a key ingredient. Our server was quick to fix these issues, but the kitchen seemed to be having an off night. We won't be returning.

Really had looked forward to this place. Got all dressed up and read tons of good reviews. Unfortunately, nothing like we hoped being Yucatan foodies. Dont know if we were on an off night but I wouldnt come back here again. Service was just OK. Overpriced and overportioned. Both boyfriend and I felt a bit weird afterwards, and kept thinking... This was absolutely a gourmet Mayan restaurant that is both beautiful and unpretentious. It's in a garden setting with both indoor and outdoor (palapa-style) seating. We ended up eating two meals there because we liked it so much. Every dish was delicious, and we loved the cocktails too. The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a sure bet if you're... I have regularly been happy with food and service here. First went just over a year ago with some other attendees at a workshop I was taking. We went a couple of times in that 5 days. I was back again this year with different attendees of this year's version of the workshop. There were six of us and everybody... More

We went to Taberna de los Frailes for a special evening in support of the Valladolid English Library. The meal was absolutely delicious followed by a wonderful intimate concert by Steve Katz who is a founding member of Blood Sweat and Tears. We have eaten here a few times before and this meal was no exception to the quality we... More
