A perfect place with yummy options - whether cheesecake, bagel, smoothie or coffee. Popular among locals. A good wifi connection which isn't true everywhere on the malecon. Don't miss it!

Karlita's sweets were legendary. Sadly, the Bambu Hostal that now occupies the space offers pretty much only coffee, espresso, lattes. Those are nice, but that's almost all that is available.

These guys are taking baking on the beach to a whole new level. The coconut cake is moist and delicioso! We tried the carrot cake (on spot), the nutella tart (rich and chocolaty), the scones (just like mom makes), and the smoothies are fresh and fruitful! You must stop in for a treat when in Mahahual!!

This is small place on the beach, a lovely place to grab a cafe and treat (great carrot cake) and the best wifi in town, good to know in case you need to work, like me! The owners are nice, and my only complaint is I wished they had more breakfast offering other than a bagel with salmon or cream... More

Do not have the cheesecake! It's beyond delicious and I wish I had never discovered it because now I want (at least) a piece every day. But so are the heavenly smoothies -- and probably the many other sweet delights that I have not (yet) tried. Healthy, natural ingredients -- a real find. Don't miss Karlita's!

I feel so bad that I am just getting around to this review, as I left Mahahual just over a month ago; however, I still crave Karlita's cakes! I was in Mahahual for almost 3 weeks and went to Karlita's at least once a day for coffee and then usually again for cake, because I couldn't get enough of them!... More

Mahahual is a cruise ship port and when the ship(s) come in for the day business picks up for the local cafes & restaurants. This time when we were there 2 ships were in, but even with the place being busier, it was just as friendly, efficient and delicious as ever!! What a great place for coffee & breakfast!

Good coffee. Nice bagel with ham and cheese. Thinking my tres leches cake was left over from day or so before. Not good. Yet another restaurant difficult to enter if you are unsteady.
