Been going here for 11years and haven't had a bad experience yet. Will not "wow" you, but the food, especially the seafood is always fresh and well prepared. Great location on half moon bay. Where you find the local gringos dining out.

The four of us walked the road from Akumal all the way along Halfmoon bay about 5K. We stopped here for some well deserved beer and decided to have lunch with our rest. The food was a knock out. Totally unexpected in this area. Highly recommend you to stop in. Table and chairs in the sand make for a great... More

Not just your average seaside restaurant, La Lunita offers artisanal local and Asian influenced cuisine. Waiters are attentive and atmosphere is relaxed and savvy. Open air tables in the sand or tucked cozily in the bistro, you feel like you've chosen well. Our group was staying at Hacienda de la Tortuga and Mirage condos where La Lunita is located and... Went to this restaurant during a tour of Akumal. It was the best meal we had the whole trip. I had the fish ceviche, chicken tostadas and chocolate ice cream...and a margarita or two. MY VOTE for best margarita. Not too surgary...just perfect. The view is breath taking, we took so many pictures there. I think next time in the... More

Since we had awful experience at the restaurant next door, this became or new place to eat. We ate here several times during our stay - the fritters were great, coconut shrimp were excellent, drinks were strong and delicious. I highly recommend this place - seemed very clean and food was handled properly

First off, we have been coming to Akumal since 1993 and have made La Lunita our "special dinner " stop since it opened. No longer, I'm sorry to say. First of all, we arrived in time for "hora feliz" only to be told it is only for parties of 4?????!!! Anyway, we forgave and just ordered our drinks. The menu... More

We have been visiting Akumal for the last 5 years and try to eat at a variety of restaurants. This is the third, and last time, we will make the effort to go up to La Lunita. Every one of our four meals was less than average. The steak was tough. The Tuna was tasteless and chewy. The wine so... More

Cute little place on Half Moon Bay! Hopefully you don't drive by and miss this little restaurant/bar. I think it's a part of condo complex so if you don't see the signs it's easily missed. We stopped for a few drinks and had the coconut shrimp (excellent) and the ceviche which was also very good. Nice place with a calm... More

We ate at La Lunita for lunch, and were intrigued by many of the menu options. including things like Pekin duck tacos. The prices were a bit higher than average for the area, but the variety looked like they might be worth it. While it was a reasonable meal, none of us were particularly impressed with our selections.
