Even in mid-winter (February), this place is warm, cozy and delightful, and serves delicious food. On a side street and some parking available. They have wifi and delicious soups and lunch offerings.

New owners and a different menu and good service and good food. The new people have concentrated on making the food interesting and good and the ambiance friendly and it is all working. A number of sandwiches all on a lovely large biscuit, chilli and soup and one special at lunch. Also noted a breakfast biscuit which sounded good. A... More

This lovely "nest", off the main drag in Mahone Bay, has recently changed hands. Past uncertainty about ownership and "niche" seems, with the arrival of the new team, at last to have settled! Cozy, peaceful environment is enhanced by the cheerful, friendly owners, relatives and staff - who know how to drive the espresso machine! The fresh made scones are... More

Well, to elaborate on the title, my girlfriend and I went in today for the first time since the new ownership took over. We weren't 100% sure what to expect, but we ordered 2 soy lattes and they were very good. Before leaving, I wanted to check what kind of vegan options they had or intended to have on a... More

It is still a pleasant and comfortable place to go, but .... We have been going to the biscuit eater for at least four years. The atmosphere, at its best was informal, welcoming and importantly... inclusive. It seems increasingly to be operating on a business plan that requires higher and higher cover values. The option to spend a couple of... More

Had lunch here today with my wife. Everything we had was delicious and we left feeling quite full. The croissant sandwich was particularly good! Would definitely recommend.

Very clean and cozy atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. We had salads and coffee. A little hard to find cause it is off the Main Street but worth it.

Description
The Biscuit Eater is a friendly community cafe and bookstore serving homemade, handmade goodness in Mahone Bay's oldest building. Fresh baked buttermilk biscuits, locally roasted coffee, stacks of cookies and baked treats, delicious soups, sandwiches and daily specials are all made with care daily by new owners Jessika and Chris and our talented chef Laurie Zwicker. Take a seat by the hearth in a cozy chair, have lunch in the library, grab a snack to go, or visit with old and new friends in the common room - here the warmth of community is alive, well, and waiting to welcome you. We are accessible, family friendly, inclusive and open to all our neighbours from our oldest customer (98!) to biscuit babies. Our new winter hours are Monday - Saturday from 9-4, keep your eye on our Facebook page for evening events, markets, and workshops. We are also available to host your special events, weddings, and creative retreats, contact us with your ideas and collaborations!
