We had a party of 11 for a family graduation celebration. Service was great. Waitress knew the muni and dishes well. Calamari and Cold Cut starters were excellent and good quantity. All dishes were well prepared and tasteful. Minestrone soup was good Rack of Lamb was cooked to perfection. The various pasta dishes we had were cooked well and had... More

I believe this to be the best Italian food prepared in Winston, comparable to any fine Italian food you're find in New York, San Francisco or Chicago. Growing up in an Italian family, I do know "authentic" when I taste it.

Great selection of outstanding seafood and Italian dishes. Try the roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella appetizer! Cold crisp greens on salad offerings. The fried chess bread is a must have also. Any entree with their secret vodka sauce will blow you away. A solid choice in Winston- Salem NC.

Perfect spot. Nothing to look at outside so you have no idea what's inside. Very old school Italian place that locals swear by. Very authentic Italian made by a first generation immigrant family. Some say it needs updating inside but I hope they don't. It's like going back in time to an authentic Little Italy spot. Paul, who started the... More

We have been visiting Pauls for years since we used to live nearby. Paul paid great attention to detail growing fresh herbs and vegetables for his meals. We were very sorry to hear he passed away but his son is following in his footsteps. The menu is still the same and we had a very nice meal. The pasta was... More

I've known Paul's reputation, but never been, as I though "fine dining" meant "formal". WRONG. I travel (and eat out) for a living. Paul's stacks up to the best of the best I've experienced in NYC, Cincinnatti, DC, Atlanta....places I frequent. The wait staff is as attentive and knowledgeable a crew as I've experienced. They speak confidently not only about... More

My friends have been coming to Paul's for years. They new the original owner and know the son who runs the restaurant. The ambiance needs major overhaul to be on high prices that they charge for the food here. It is stuck in the 70s with the service that while efficient and friendly still lacks personality. The bread basket was... More

My 90 year old dad had just passed and we all decided to toast him and eat well at Paul's. The food was very southern -- Italian and US. I was touched that they could make my pasta gluten free. The rest of the group was completed sated with old standards. I am really impressed. by how they took on... More

I recently visited Paul's for the 3rd time since earlier this summer. From the first visit, the wait staff and management make you feel welcome and right at home. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The tables are set with white tablecloths and fabric napkins, a rarity in today's restaurant crowd. We were accommodated in the bar area one evening... More
