My husband and I went for dinner here a few nights ago. We were expecting an excellent meal...at least a 2 or 3 star. We ordered from the specials..a spinach salad with warm dates, goat cheese and walnuts, Italian wedding soup, fingerling potatoes, sauteed greens, sea scallops and veal scaloppine with Julia Childs brownie for dessert. My husband, who had... More

The Glass Onion was recommended to us by friends as being a great place for dinner. We decided to go there for lunch. As we entered, the first thing we noticed was that the tables that weren’t in use were still piled with dishes from previous diners. It soon became apparent why. There was only one person working the front... More

Glass Onion is a wonderful place to eat lunch, dinner, and brunch. Although the menu is small - the taste is huge. Don't miss Glass Onion - It's a real treat and you'll be back several time - guaranteed!

We eat there quite often and have never been disappointed. One of the best around and there lots of places in Weaverville and nearby Asheville.

We saw good reviews on Trip Advisor and love italian so made the 15 min trip from Asheville to enjoy lunch. Had best calamari ever..light batter crispy but not chewy, and excellent seasoning. Enjoyed eggplant as well. The service was attentive and friendly without being invasive.

You can't help but want to go right in as soon as you see The Glass Onion! It is warmly decorated with wood and glass and is so pleasant and welcoming to the eye! Beyond that, the food is great! We warmed up with fabulous garlic rolls...delicious little nuggets of bakery goods with nice chunks of garlic and herbs on... More

This is no ordinary Italian restaurant. The chef is incredibly creative, and his artistry shows in every morsel. Most of what we selected was from the list of daily specials. Though the special soups sounded wonderful, we each had one of the salads. Mine was spinach topped with warm dates, goat cheese, and balsamic; it was so good that I... More

Just 5 miles from downtown Asheville in Weaverville is a gem of a restaurant Calle the Glass Onion. We went New Years Eve and had a terrific meal. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. While they are an Italian restaurant, don't expect pizza and lasagna. Rather, they use fresh local food for an outstanding menu. I did have... More

Took my mother to lunch on her birthday at her request. The Glass Onion was excellent. I had the Salmon Burger which was so tasty. I normally do not like aioli but it went perfect with the burger. My mother had the chicken wrap which she enjoyed. The service was excellent. The glass onion turned out to be a gem!

Italian restaurant with some of the best stuffed pasta I have had. Vegan and vegetarian options are available because everything is made to order. Excellent wine selection and the desserts are to die for. There is limited street parking, but this restaurant is across the street from the city parking lot. At the time of post, there is a special... More
