We had our 4-5th meal at KandF for brunch on Sunday recently. They are not located in the same building as before (so that tells how long it's been since we were there). The decor is sorta galvanized metal/rough hewn wood/ white walls/low ceiling.... you get the picture. There is outdoor seating but we were inside, actually just inside the... More

I realize dining options in Spruce Pine, NC are quite limited. Perhaps this is the best the community has to offer. Nonetheless that does not alter my impression, based on only a single visit, of it being rather mediocre. Food was good (not great) but overpriced. Service was substandard, you should not have to ask three times for a wedge... More

This restaurant serves delicious, high quality dishes in an unpretentious environment. The staff is friendly, and the food exceeds expectation! It's a place well worth the drive if you value good food.

In this place, at this moment is the title for the set meal created by chef Nate Allen for those choosing a culinary experience. My husband surprised me with an anniversary dinner at the Knife and Fork, a place I have always wanted to dine. This restaurant rivals the best of the best in the foodie world. A true farm-to-table... More

This was my first visit to Knife and Fork with a friend who absolutely loves it and has been many times for dinner at their old location next door. We came for a belated birthday lunch. She was surprised at the industrial and somewhat unfinished feel to the new location (maybe it is still unfinished??) The banquette was hard and... More

Hi ladyinthehills, The new location of Knife & Fork is made to the exact specifications I, as the creator of the restaurant, wanted to have. I'm extremely proud of what we've created here and I also understand that it's not for everyone. Our restaurant does not have a lack of ambience, it's full to the brim with it. You just... More

What a great surprise. A special restaurant with a special chef in a unsuspecting town in rural NC, with a daily changing menu and fresh farm to table ingredients. The meal was fabulous! I don't know if we had a chef's tasting menu or asked the chef to bring us whatever he wanted but the meal was exceptional. We had... More

I had just enjoyed a full morning of trout fishing, so was only looking for something light for lunch. The menu was a bit more than what I had expected. I ordered the KF Burger, which turned out to be a very thick chunk of ground beef on a homemade bun. Delicious, as were the fried potato chunks that came... More

Price fixed menus always bother me. Way too much food for me to eat for the family, it was perfect. We brought some Leftovers home and everybody went home full. Wine was good. Dessert needed to be cold. Service was kind of slow. That was most disappointing. Best course was lamb but not enough. Salad was a bit weak. Timing... More

My husband found this outstanding restaurant last minute while we were spending a long weekend in Asheville! We were lucky enough to get in for an early dinner on a fall Saturday night that was completely booked! Hands down the best meal we had that weekend. Fell in love with everything about this place! Menu truly farm to table! Try... More
