We just finished eating breakfast there and thoroughly enjoyed every thing about it. The restaurant is located in the Marriott City Center hotel and it is the most attractive Marriott site restaurant we have ever been in. Wide open spaces with local decorating themes and...touches. Breakfast was cooked to order and thankfully did not include Marriott's traditional breakfast buffet. Service was cheerful and attentive. We only had breakfast but I'd try it again for other meals or snacks and drinks. You won't be disappointed.More
I stayed at the Marriot over the weekend while visiting Raleigh for the Galaxycon event across at the convention center, and all I can say is, the service here was above and beyond. I had three different servers (one each day I ate there). I...never had to wait, never need to call my server for any refills and the food was tasty and very filling. I even got caught up in conversations with a few of the employees there, and it honestly made me feel so comfortable and welcomed to their location. The experience I had here has made sure that every time I need a hotel in Raleigh I am staying at the Marriot just so I can eat at Rye Bar & Southern Kitchen.More
Not impressed with food or service. The meatloaf did not even look like meat loaf. Wife had the lemon chicken , which was very good, but the sides were awful. We also were very disappointed with the deserts, portion size was very small. Will not eat...here again. Many other downtown Raleigh restrauants to choose from.More

Everyone at the Marriott, the hotel which houses Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen, was amazing, but Julie (bartender extraordinaire) was so lovely. Not going to lie, I spent more money and time at the bar than I normally do. She was friendly and kind and...super amazing as a bartender. I'm an easy drink kind of girl but I'm picky with foods and Julie was definitely up to the challenge. There was not one negative experience while I sat at Julie's bar. I highly recommend y'all show up here during the daylight hours and let Julie take care of your drink/food needs.More

I recently stopped in to eat here while on business. The menu is nothing fancy and really does not have a lot to offer but what I did have was very good. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
Good Morning, Thank you for taking time to rate your dining experience at Rye. We're glad you enjoyed your meal and please drop in to see us again when you're back in town!
I stayed at the Residence Inn for a few days and someone mentioned the Rye Bar so I decided to go. The atmosphere was great, then i ran into one of the bartenders. Julie was very knowledgeable I'm not from here and she gave me...some tips on places to visit while I'm in town. She was a great help and very friendly. I've met quite a few bartenders in my day and this lady is by far one of the best that I've come in contact with! The next time I'm here I'll make sure I stop in, she made my evening, the conversation and the laughs were a plus. She made me feel as if I've been here for years. Keep up the great work Julie!!More
Hi Laqwanda, thank you for your stellar rating of your experience at Rye Bar. Julie is certainly an asset to our hotel and we will be sure to pass along your comments to her. Please come back soon!
The food is good and it is conveniently located by the public parking garage and the auditorium. The service, however is awful! We keep giving the restaurant another chance, but each time the service is worse. On our last visit we had a waitress and...a trainee. Each one separately asked for our drink order, however after 40 minutes, we still did not have our wine. After an hour and 15 minutes- we had not received our meals. We ordered from the menu with no special requests. The restaurant was not crowded. Several times the waitress said “it will be right out” or the “kitchen is backed up”. That was the last time! We will try other restaurants in the area.More

I loved this Marriott. As a Titanium Elite member I was very impressed with the entire staff. I would like to give a special compliment to Ann, who is the hostess for the Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen. For this Sunday morning they were short...staff, Ann went out of her way to get us seated and she waited on use. There was a very large crowd and I was impressed with how Ann handled each customer with care and courtesy and in was impressed with her professionalism. A few hours later when we returned to hotel and she was going home she recognized us and greeted us on the street. Thank you AnnMore

So, first let me say the Marriott was a fabulous hotel and the hotel staff were amazing but Rye was the worst. I travel for business 50 nights per year and have never had a complaint about a hotel restaurant before now. It was a...Saturday night about 6 so expected a wait. Went downstairs and we were told it would be about 25 minutes and saw a ton of empty tables with dirty dishes. We said we would wait and about 20 mins later the hostess comes to escort us to our table. We are seated and then are told they are only serving the bar menu because it’s too busy and the regular menu “would be a really long time.” No problem - there are about eight things in the bar menu. Waiter finally makes it to our table 10 mins later and proceeds to tell us all the items that are “86” on the menu leaving us with four choices. As we are debating what to order the tables on both sides of us send their food back and 10 mins later the waiter - still with no drinks - comes back to take our order and says another entree has been removed. We left. Wasted an hour and never tasted a thing. Horrible planning on the restaurants part and should definitely be transparent when people decide to wait for a seat. Ridiculous.More
