We read the reviews and they were right! This place is fantastic! We had the eggs Benedict and the Croque Madam which is a breakfast sandwich on crossaunt bread with bernaise sauce. Menu items change a little from week to week, but we have gone twice and both times we said it was one of the best meals we have... More

One of the top chefs in Raleigh will amaze your taste buds. The menu changes often, using local produce and meats as the seasons change. The choices were fabulous and all written on chalkboard. They also have an extensive wine list. We shared the Mussels, fresh bread and Local Lettuce Salad with roasted brussels, pomegranate, pecorino and topped with white... More

Conveniently located near the Convention Ctr., and on a Saturday night at 8:30pm, we snagged two seats right away. It's a cozy neighborhood spot, but the food is definitely upscale. Wine selection is modest and affordable. We ordered the Braised Short Ribs and the Mac n Cheese. Both were phenonenal!!!! Short Ribs boasted a crispy carmelized outside and fork tender... More

The food was excellent. The place is not overly large and you can expect to have a little wait, but it’s worth it. The menu is on the wall and it appears that everything served is very good. The only knock on the place is that it can get a little noisy.

No reservations required. But the wait is worth it. Simple but warm and cozy atmosphere. Excellent wine collection and macaroni and cheese to die for. The menu is written on the wall chalkboard style and doesn't lack in variety or creativity. This chef pulled off a winner in this upscale classy cafe. We loved the soft shell crab and avocado... We went to Poole's diner for my daughter's birthday. Since they do not take reservations, we planned our visit mid week and on the early side (6-6:30 PM). There were a few tables available, but the restaurant filled up quickly. The menu is presented on a blackboard. I ordered the NC Bass, which was wonderful and my daughter had the... More

So just an update to my previous review. Mac n cheese still good but woah, the salty flavor was almost overwhelming. Not sure what happened. Beet salad was good but the pool of vinaigrette made the dish seem soupy. Lastly, and I do remember this from last time, the glare from the white building across the street made it literally... I couldn't wait to try Poole's Diner to taste Ashley Christensen's famous fare, which I would have to rate only fair, at best. The long wait was expected, but the food was certainly not worth it. The menu was very limited and they had already run out of one of the specials by the time we were seated. The mac... More
