My wife and I have continously gone here for special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.). My wife has allergies to eggs, gluten, soy and dairy and this has never been an issue. We always make sure to note this when we make the reservation and they tell the chef ahead time to avoid any surprises. She even gets her own fig... More

We dined in the main dining room where I had the best fillet in Raleigh! The restored Victorian home set the mood for fabulous food and a quiet intimate dinner. It's so refreshing to eat and have a quiet conversation at the same time! The hostess and wait staff were very helpful and worked well together. This triple-diamond restaurant earned... More

The reviews tell you everything you need to know. Our dinner was perfect from start to finish. The waitresses was lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. The meals were perfect and delicious. I feel like the prices were well worth the wonderful evening.

We attended the Groth wine dinner with another local couple who have also traveled with us to Napa. The food prepared by the chef to highlight each wine was spectacular! Never had a bad meal here. This is our Go To restaurant whenever we want to make an impression on our guests or just indulge ourselves. This was also the... More

My girlfriend and I went for an anniversary dinner. We dine very often, probably once every week. Unfortunately we could not get the main dining room settling for the tavern instead . We were not disappointed, The restaurant exudes class, from the beautiful old wooden floors to the extremely well trained staff. Our waiter knew the menu like the back... More

[Meal] My wife had the scallops and when I had asked her how was your meal she replied "I have never tasted scallops cooked like this." It was beyond her expectations. I had the Tuna cake and my experience was as equal too my wife's comments. [Service] Our server's name was Destinee. She is a four star professional server with... More

If you are a foodie or want a memorable dinner don't miss this! It's pleasing to the eye and worth every mouthful! It is a meal I will always remember. I talked about it for days. The Tavern serves in a more casual atmosphere with access to both menus. The main dining area is more formal and perfect for special... More

As with many people, we heard the hype about the Second Empire Restaurant and had to give it a try. I can honestly say that it did not disappoint. It is certainly a lovely place as it was once a Victorian home. The restaurant is has a tavern section as well as the main restaurant. The one interesting point to... More

We went for our anniversary. We knew it was expensive but had heard great things. The service was awesome and made us feel special. Dinner was wonderful but a little slow. We had to wait for drink refills. They were very busy and we weren't in a hurry but that would have given them 5 stars!

Everything about the restaurant was outstanding. This is a wonderful place to celebrate a special event. Let them know ahead of time the event that you are celebrating and they customize a menu for you. The parking was the biggest problem. No room in the small parking lot and we didn't realize that we could park across the street. The... More
