Casual, eclectic atmosphere with old style tables and chairs. Wait staff was friendly, efficient and helpful during our first visit. Some menu items on chalk board as well as on laminated menu. Parking is challenging, but there is a parking deck on Cabarrus. Food-Yummy! The pot pie and quinoa and vegetables were very good with nice portion size. For appetizer... More

My partner and I ended up getting a couple curry and vegetable dishes. The fresh seasonal vegetables he had were great, but there wasn't enough to justify the price. The curry wasn't my cup of tea. I'd be glad to give other items on the menu a try. The employees were nice and the atmosphere was fine.

I was amazed. My husband had me try the fake pulled pork (vinegar style bbq) Oh my word. IT was fabulous and the sides. Three of us went and we tried each others food but by far mine was the best. The noodle dish may have been a close second but if you are the least bit adventurous give this... More

I’m not a vegan, I went just to make my sister happy. And I have to say this place has excellent food and desserts. What I liked the most about this place was great vibe that offers to have some drinks with friends or even alone.

We love vegetarian restaurants, and Fiction Kitchen is not only our favorite in Raleigh, it's one of the best ever. The menu ranges from delicious vegetable medleys to vegetarian fried "chicken and waffles. Everything is served either at the table section, or at the bar. Speaking of which, drinks and beers are great. Tonight our table of four tried the... More

this is a busy place, particularly at weekends. As a certified meat-eater I was here with veggie friends, but still did OK! The dishes border on "haut-cuisine" and are priced as such, which again is fine, but I feel the menu could benefit for a couple of more substantial dishes such as pot pies. While the main course was fine,... More

Opted for the Thursday night quick dining seating (avoided the wait by sitting at the bar). The service was fast & courteous and the food was yummy! We started with the Cornmeal fried oyster mushrooms and tried the 2 available dips, the shrooms were the highlight of the meal ....they were a crunchy, well seasoned appetizer that could satisfy a... I met a group of friends for a Meetup event last Sunday for brunch, and had a fun time! It was my first time to Fiction Kitchen, and it was a cool experience! It's first come, first served, which means you get there early or don't mind waiting! It's a fairly small place, so it fills up quickly! I called... More

Took my daughter here for her birthday. I prefer meat in my meals but went with an open mind. The food was incredible here, extremely fresh and well thought out. Seating can be a hassle as this place becomes quite busy.

I finally got over to Fiction Kitchen from Durham and was not disappointed. We had breakfast and both loved our dishes. I just can't wait to go back and try other things and to go for lunch or dinner!

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words! I just wanted to let you know we are not open for lunch, but we do offer Sunday brunch from 11:30am-2:45pm. Also, we regularly update our social media pages and our website calendar so if you are coming from out of town, check to make sure we're open that day before heading out.... More
