A friend recommended Gravy and we couldn't be happier. The setting was great-downtown Raleigh, service was friendly and the waitress answered every question we had graciously, and the food was fantastic. I had the homemade gnocchi in leek cream sauce with truffle oil. It was moan-worthy. Hubby had the traditional spaghetti and meatballs (pasta also homemade). He loved it. We... More

Came to celebrate with a friend , was nervous about breaking my diet, but I was able to stay in my calorie range for my diet with this Kale paramasean salad !! Omg it was delicious , I'm not big on kale but oh boy did this shock my taste buds ! The blends, and spices along with the house... More

New York Italian dining is located in downtown Raleigh at the delightful Gravy on South Wilmington. Not to be missed, the locale is located among several up and coming smaller restaurants that dot the downtown dining options. The menu is quite adequate spanning the classic pasta offerings to larger entree offerings. I had the 4-cheese Cannelloni and my husband opted... More

Gravy is a quaint restaurant in downtown Raleigh. Serving various Italian-oriented entrees, the lasagna, eggplant pie, and four-cheese canneloni are each delicious in their own rights. However, after sampling the eggplant pie, I am now addicted to it and the arugula salad with lemon olive oil ... yum! It is worth jockying the terrible downtown traffic to find a spot... More

Jesse our server was amazing. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. The food is consistently good. Gravy is very accommodating to those who are gluten sensitive. The sauce with leeks used on the gnocchi is wonderful on gf pasta. Gravy has a warm ambiance and even when they are jammed you can carry on a conversation.

A few co-workers and I randomly stopped by Gravy during our stay in Downtown Raleigh. We are from out of town but had heard great things from the locals. Well, they weren't wrong! They were able to accommodate our table of 8 without a reservation, which was a pleasant surprise. The food and service was all fantastic! I ordered the... More

I went here with my wife for date night and had a wonderful experience. I noticed that during the daytime this place is jam packed with professionals dining, however once nighttime arrived ~ it actually became pretty romantic. Everything was great including our server and the overall service as a whole. However, the dinner was a bit too rich for... More

With a name like "Gravy", I almost expected to see Paulie, Tony, and Big Pussy sitting down over plates of chicken parm, manicotti, rigatoni, and draining bottles of Chianti and making toasts over Sambuca. This Italian eatery in downtown Raleigh is not the checkered tablecloth type of establishment found in Little Italy's but rather a modern restaurant with nice wood... More

Based on the ratings, I was expecting to be mind-blown; but, alas I was not. The restaurant was busy was I expected our server to be slow waiting on 5 people, but what our wait was a little bit ridiculous...I'll get to that. The appetizers (Risotto balls) were great. I could/should have just filled up on those, but again based... More

I visited Gravy today for a birthday party. It was wonderful! The staff was excellent and the food was delicious! We had the risotto balls to start. I ate lasagna. It was the best! We also ordered chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs. All of the food was phenomenal!! No complaints from the 8 of us. Dessert... More

Description
Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.
