On a recent ride through I stopped for lunch to check out what was a promising restaurant in an old mill. The mill is beautifully done and the restaurant is a nice setting for a romantic dinner. The cheese plate had a good selection of cheeses but some appeared to have been around a while, dry around the edges. The... More

The knowledge of the staff, the curated wine list, the array of pallet pleasers, the comfortable atmosphere, the polished glassware and silverware, the plating of entrees and appetizers, the music, the aroma of farm to table, this is the best meal I've had since the countryside of Italy. And even then, I would be proud to bring my European friends... More

You would definitely miss this restaurant if you didn't know it was there . . . and it's already a bit off the beaten path in Pittsboro. The food is definitely worth a trip, with unique flavors using fresh ingredients. Portions are appropriate for nouvelle cuisine and were just right in our view. Service was helpful and unpressured. Only issue... More

The Oakleaf is a beautiful restaurant with attentive wait staff. The food is carefully prepared with flavors that are second to none. The portions of food are extremely small. I have been to several farm to table restaurants and did not expect Texas size dining but only having three oysters for a first course for $15 was disappointing. They should... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write! I think that there may have been an error with your oyster dish. The first course oyster dish should have had 6 oysters. There were several tables that chose to split the oyster appetizer (which would give 3 oysters to each person splitting the dish) and it's certainly within the... More

We dined here last week with friends. Everything from the wine-by-the-glass selections (I had a 2013 Chateau De Saint Cosme), to the appetizers, to the entrees were flavorful and delicious. While having desert, I noticed that they offered a local Pittsboro Apple Brandy which I tried for the first time. It was so good, i acquired a bottle for my... More

Oakleaf was a pleasant surprise in many ways: the look and atmosphere , great food, somewhat high prices but with tiny portions. I had the Monkfish with mussels and it came with two tiny pieces of fish not much larger than large grapes (smaller than an egg) and four mussels. That was my entree', price about $30. So load up... Great place to do lunch. The menu had several choices of farm to table items. I had the Hanger Steak which was outstanding. The overall noise level was down so we were able to have great conversation.

OakLeaf is without question one of if not the best cuisine available within the Research Triangle! The entrees are impeccably prepared and served with accompaniments that tantalize. The staff loves their job and you feel welcomed and comfortable. Take the ride its scenic and less traveled. OakLeaf never disappoints.

I recently hit the Oakleaf with some colleagues after hearing about the place for months. It was billed by numerous folks as an out of the way place (Pittsboro isn't exactly on everyone's radar) but worth the adventure to get out there and try it. It's a foodie destination. So after months of talking about it we headed out. It... More
